Bernard G. “Bernie” Niemann,
85, of Breese, died Monday, July 2, 2007 at Caring First Nursing
Home in Breese.
Mr. Niemann was born January
16, 1922 in Breese to Joseph and Anna (Peek) Niemann they preceded
him in death.
Also preceded in death by a
daughter, Mary Beth Henss; brothers, Harry, August, John, Aloys, and
Vincent Niemann; a sister, Bertha Timmermann; sisters-in-law, Annie
Niemann, Cecilia Niemann, Dorothy Kuper, Betty Kuper, and Patsy
Kuper; brothers-in-law, Charles Timmermann and Paul Kuper.
He married Rose Marie “Dolly”
Kuper on July 2, 1947 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Aviston; she
survives in Breese.
Also surviving is his
children, Ken Niemann of Waterloo, Donna (Dennis) Beckmann of
Aviston, Jim (Mary) Niemann of Breese, Dave (Yolanda) Niemann of
Tucson, AZ, Joe Niemann of Springfield, and Lori (Curt) Hemann of
Breese.

Bernie retired as a custodial
painter from St. Elizabeth Hospital in Belleville.
He was a member of St. Dominic
Catholic Church and Men’s Sodality, 50 year honorary life member of
Breese Knights of Columbus Council 2869, Breese American Legion Post
252, Mater Dei Fathers and Friends, and was a veteran of the 8th
Army Air Corp.
Funeral Mass of Christian
Burial will be Thursday, July 5, 2007 at 11:00 AM at St. Dominic
Catholic Church in Breese with Fr. Patrick Peter officiating.
Interment will follow in St. Dominic/St. Augustine Cemetery,
Breese.
Visitation will be Wednesday,
July 4, 2007 from 4:00-9:00 PM and again on Thursday, July 5, 2007
from 8:00 to 10:45 AM at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese.
Memorials can be made to Mater
Dei High School, All Saints Academy, or the Nazareth Home-PHJC and
will be received at the funeral home.
Breese
American Legion will hold services at 7:00 PM and Breese Knights of
Columbus will pray the Rosary at 7:30 PM Wednesday evening at the
funeral home. |
