Wanda
L. Peterson, nee Zipser, 70 of Trenton, Illinois and formerly of
Elkhart,
IN, died Wednesday, November 1, 2006
at St.
Elizabeth's Hospital in
Belleville,
Illinois.
She was
born on February 27, 1936 in Elkhart to Louis H. and Josephine E.
(Rounds) Zipser; they preceded her in death.
Also
preceded in death by twins, Louis Zipser and Louise Hardy and
another sister, Norma Wicks.
Surviving are two sons; James N. (Patricia) Peterson and Robert L.
Peterson both of Trenton, Illinois, a daughter; Brenda (James) Shank
of Elkhart, IN.
Six
grandchildren, Jeremiah O’Brien of Elkhart, IN, Joshua (Shounda)
O’Brien of Goshen, IN, Peter O’Brien of Elkhart, IN, Jaime Peterson
of Trenton, Michael Peterson of Trenton, and Maggie Peterson of
Trenton.
One
great grandson, Conrad O’Brien.
A
brother; William V. Zipser of Elkhart, IN.
Mrs. Peterson retired from Bayer Corporation where she worked as an
administrative assistant since 1979, retiring in 2001. Before that,
she had worked for the Elkhart Community School System. She was a
member of Grace Community Baptist Church in Trenton, Illinois where
she was a deaconess, worked in the office, member of the Sisters in
Grace group, AWANA Girls Club, Ladies Luncheon Group, Child Care
Outreach and a Nursery volunteer all at the church. She also
volunteered at St. Joseph's Hospital in Breese, Illinois. She
enjoyed going to her grandchildren's sporting events, playing
dominos, euchre, scrabble and reading.
Memorial services will be Saturday, November 25, 2006 a 6:00 PM at
Grace Community Baptist Church in Trenton with Rev. Bob Marsh
officiating.
Visitation and
Services were held in Elkhart, IN and burial was in Rice Cemetery,
Elkhart, IN
Memorials may be made to Grace Community Baptist Church, Trenton, IL
and will be received at the church or through Moss Funeral Home who
is in charge of the local arrangements. |
