James H. “Jim” Poettker, 74, of Flat
Rock, Illinois formerly of Breese died Thursday December 22, 2005 in
Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes Indiana.
He was born December 5, 1931 in
Breese to Gerhard and Bertha (Woltering) Poettker and they preceded
him in death.
He was a farmer and a member of St.
Elizabeth Catholic church Robinson Illinois. He was a veteran of
Navy during Korean Conflict.
He married Mary Ann Toeben January
21 1956 in St. Dominic Church Breese and she survives in Flat Rock.
He also survived by sons Jim (Deb)
Poettker, Gerhard (Jamie) Poettker and Kenneth (Tiffiney) Poettker
all of Flat Rock and 3 daughters Yvonne (Vaughn) Mikeworth of
Springfield Tennessee, Deborah (Fletcher) Christian of
Crawfordville, Florida, and Patty (Doug) Wampler of Indianapolis,
Indiana.
Also surviving are brothers
Marcellus (Rita) Poettker of Aviston, Linus (Barbara) Poettker of
Shiloh and sisters Lorena (Erwin) Rolves of Beckemeyer, Martha
Kleffner of Waterloo, Lucille (Elmer) Krebs of Carlyle, Lillian
(Charles) Strube of Marissa and Jane Kampwerth of Breese. A sister
in law Pauline (Victor) Gerling of New Baden.
11 grandchildren and 3 great
grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by brothers
Ralph and Robert Poettker and sisters Adel Reilmann, Ann Stanley and
Clara Mae Thole.
Funeral services will be held
Wednesday December 28, 2005 at 10 Am at St. Augustine Church Breese
with Fr. Chuck Tuttle officiating. Interment in St. Dominic –St.
Augustine Cemetery Breese. Friends may call at the Moss Funeral
Home in Breese Tuesday December 27 from 4 to 9 Pm and Wednesday from
8 to 9:45 am. Memorial can be made to New Hebron Christian High
School and Good Samaritan Hospital Hospice and will be received at
the funeral home. |
