Vince J.
Poettker, 90, of Aviston, and formerly of St. Rose, died Sunday,
December 10, 2006 at Countryside Manor in Aviston.
Mr.
Poettker was born April 2, 1916 in St. Rose to Bernard and Anna (Strieker)
Poettker; they preceded him in death.
Also
preceded in death by a granddaughter, Cindy Poettker; a brother, Vic
Poettker; and sisters, Ida Ottensmeier, Rose Woltering, and Dorothy
Poettker.
He
married Bernice Horstmann on February 20, 1946 at St. Dominic
Catholic Church in Breese; she survives in Aviston.
Also
surviving are his children, Dan (Rita) Poettker of Albers, Stan
(Carolyn) Poettker of Trenton, Chuck (friend Linda Josselyn)
Poettker of Glen Carbon, Duane (Pat) Poettker of St. Rose, Karen
(Andy) Mills of Glen Carbon, Phil Poettker of St. Rose, Bernard
Poettker of St. Rose, Diane Poettker of Breese, Rebecca (Ray)
Hutchinson of Birmingham, Alabama, and Craig (Colette) Poettker of
Edwardsville.

Grandchildren and 8 Great-Grandchildren
Sisters,
Alvina Ottensmeier of New Baden, Leona Ottensmeier of Highland, and
Vera (Harold) Maue of Damiansville.
Vince
retired as a lifelong farmer.
He was a
member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Aviston and Clinton County
Farm Bureau, and a former member of St. Rose Catholic Church and
past president of the men’s sodality
Funeral
Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at
11:00 AM at St. Francis Catholic Church in Aviston with Fr. Daniel
Friedman officiating. Interment will follow in St. Francis
Cemetery, Aviston.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 12, 2006 from 4:00-9:00 PM and
again on Wednesday, December 13, 2006 from 8:00-10:30 AM at the Moss
Funeral Home in Breese.
Memorials can be made to St. Francis Catholic Church or to the St.
Francis Cemetery Fund and will be received at the funeral home. |
