John W. Rathmann 66 of Breese died Friday February 3, 2006 at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese 

He was born November 25, 1939 in St. Louis, MO to George and Estelle (Billhartz) Rathmann: they preceded him in death 

He married Letty Kunz on February 21, 1960 in Trenton and she survives in Breese 

Mr. Rathmann was a devout Christian and a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is also survived by sons William “Bill” (Lisa) Rathmann of Germantown, Michael “Mike” (Deeann) Rathmann of Enid OK 

A daughter Barbara (Darrin) Daugherty of Raymond. 

5 grandchildren Anthony, Joshua, Christopher, Elizabeth and Matthew Rathmann 

Brothers George (Louise) Rathmann of Swansea, James (Gail) Rathmann of Chandler AZ 

Preceded in death by sisters Georgellen Rathmann, Bernice Moss, brothers-in-law Leander “Ben” Moss and Theodore H. Kruep 

John was retired computer programmer, systems analyst and consultant from June of 1967 to February of 2000. H e served for 10 ½ years in the U.S. Air Force reaching the rank of SSGT.   

Life member of the American Legion and the Disabled American Veterans.  

He graduated from New Baden Community High School in 1957 and received his AAS and BAIS degrees from Columbia University in Columbia, MO in 1974.  He was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church in Carlyle, the Aid Association for Lutherans and the Lutheran Layman’s League A former Cub and Boy Scout leader in Breese, and had worked with the hearing impaired youth and adults for several years. 

Funeral services will be held on Monday February 6, 2006 at 11 am at Messiah Lutheran Church in Carlyle with Rev. Steven Sommerer officiating. Interment Ellwood Cemetery in Breese 

Visitation will be held on Sunday February 5, 2006 from 4 to 9 PM at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese  

Memorials can be made to Messiah Lutheran Church, Lutheran Hour Ministries or Lutheran World Missions and will be received at the funeral home
