Margaret J. “Margie” Schmidt, nee Beckmann, 90, of Breese died Tuesday, March 21, 2006 at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese. 

Mrs. Schmidt was born March 1, 1916 in Germantown to Frank and Elizabeth (Albers) Beckmann; they preceded her in death. 

On June 6, 1945 she married Alvin “Smitty” Schmidt in St. Augustine Church, Breese, IL; he preceded her in death on March 8, 1998. 

Also preceded in death by a sister, Alice Koerkenmeier, and brothers, Clarence, Cyril, Victor, and Eugene Beckmann 

Surviving is a son, Don (Diana) Schmidt of Marietta, GA 

A grandson, David Schmidt of Marietta, GA 

A sister, Dolores (Joe) Reynolds of Florissant, MO 

Sisters-in-law, Florence Beckmann of Sandoval, Marg Beckmann of Breese, Rita Beckmann of St. Louis, and Ronnie Beckmann of St. Rose 

Margie was a homemaker and a former office assistant for Dr.’s Ketterer and Ketterer in Breese 

She was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church and Altar Sodality in Breese and Breese American Legion Post 252 Auxiliary 

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, March 25, 2006 at 1:00 PM at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese with Fr. Patrick Peter officiating.  Interment will follow in St. Dominic/St. Augustine Cemetery, Breese. 

Visitation will be Saturday, March 25, 2006 from 11:00 AM -12:45 PM at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese. 

Memorials can be made to Mater Dei High School, All Saints Academy, or St. Dominic Church and will be received at the funeral home.
