Alvin H. Schmitt, 54, of Summerfield, died Sunday, April 22, 2007 at Clinton Manor Nursing Home in New Baden. 

Mr. Schmitt was born September 3, 1952 in Highland to Herbert W. and Elvera (Holtman) Schmitt; they preceded him in death. 

Also preceded in death by a sister, Marlene “Sis” Schmitt, a brother-in-law, Terry Litteken, and father-in-law LeRoy Ruth. 

He married Janelle Ruth on August 19, 1983 in Trenton; she survives in Summerfield. 

Also surviving is his chidren, Cheryn Schmitt and Roy Schmitt both of Trenton. 

Brothers, Floyd Schmitt of Trenton and Bernard (Charity) Schmitt of Highland. 

Sisters, Juanita (Dean) Zurliene of Trenton, Laurie Litteken of Trenton, and Dee (Jim) Emig of Bartelso. 

His Mother-in-law, Mable Ruth of New Baden. 

Sisters-in-law, Dolores (Elton) Leppke if Carrington, ND, Gwen (Bernard) Feldt of Trenton, and Gail Ruth of Trenton. 

Alvin was a truck driver for Jung Trucking in Mascoutah. 

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 24, 2007 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Moss Funeral Home in Trenton.  There will be no services. 

Memorials can be made to Clinton Manor Nursing Home and will be received at the funeral home.
