Norma
H. Schumacher, nee Buske, 81, of St. Rose, died Tuesday, April 15,
2008 at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese.
She
was born February 8, 1927 in Old Ripley, IL to Henry and Gesina (Engleman)
Buske; they preceded her in death.
She
married Gervase “Gerp” Schumacher on July 17, 1951 at St. Paul
Catholic Church in Highland; he preceded her in death on May 16,
2004.
Also
preceded in death by brothers, Herbert, Elmer, Melvin, and Lester
Buske; sisters, Irene Buske, Erna Smith, and Leona Prott; a
sister-in-law, Henrietta Buske; and brothers-in-law, Erwin Smith and
Eldon Prott.
Surviving are her children, Gerald “Chip” Schumacher of Breese,
Dennis (Deb) Schumacher of St. Rose, Debbie (Jim) David of Macon,
GA, Jim Schumacher of Carlyle, Steve (fiancée Angela Walter)
Schumacher of Albers, Laura Schumacher of St. Louis, and Brenda
(Steven) Lange of St. Louis.

Schumacher, Chris (Shelly) Albers, Craig (Jen) Albers, Marcus

A
brother, Vernon (Dolores) Buske of Alhambra, and a sister, Arline
(John) Vosholler of Pocahontas.
Sisters-in-law, Doris Jean Buske and Eileen Buske both of Grantfork.
Norma
along with her husband Gerp operated a dairy farm and she was a
homemaker.
She
was a member of St. Rose Church and Ladies Sodality.
Norma
always enjoyed a good joke, a funny story, or anything that made her
laugh. She spent hours quilting, shopping, and COOKING! Old
Fashion home cooked meals were her specialty and they were always
delicious. While in the kitchen, she could be heard singing church
hymns or cowboy music; or just talking with the ones she loved. Her
greatest love was for her husband and family. She was a devoted
wife, mother and grandmother. She gave all of her heart and soul to
make her family happy. The many ways she touched those around her
will never be forgotten.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, April 18, 2008 at
1:30 PM at St. Rose Catholic Church with Fr. Edward Schaefer and Fr.
Daniel Friedman officiating. Interment will follow in St. Rose
Cemetery.
Visitation will be
Thursday, April 17, 2008 from 4:00-9:00 PM and again Friday, April
18, 2008 from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese.
Memorials can be made to
St. Rose Church, American Diabetes Association, or to the donor’s
choice and will be received at the funeral home. |
