Wendelin P. Schumacher, 75, of St.
Rose, died Sunday, November 11, 2007 at St. Joseph Hospital in
Highland.
He was born December 25, 1931 in St.
Rose to Bernard L. and Rosalia (Strieker) Schumacher; they preceded
him in death.
Also preceded in death by a brother,
Gervase Schumacher; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Vince and
Lucille M. Schwarz, and a brother-in-law, Richard Schwarz.
Wendelin married Shirley Schwarz on
May 7, 1960 at St. Gertrude Church in Grantfork; she survives in St.
Rose.
Also surviving is his children,
Danny Schumacher of St. Rose, Donna (Jim) Voss of St. Rose, Denise
(Alan) Guttersohn of Breese, and David (Michelle) Schumacher of
Zionsville, IN.
8 Grandchildren-Jamie and Kelly
Voss, Brandon, Justin, and Cody Guttersohn, Isaac, Lauren, and Blake
Schumacher.
Sisters, Rosemary (Bernard) Venhaus
of Aviston, Martha (Bernell) Weis of Marine, Pat (Jerry) Lampe of
Breese, Margie (Ray) Fabre of San Diego, CA, and Theresa (Val)
Buchmiller of Highland.
Sisters-in-law, Norma Schumacher of
St. Rose, Betty (Harold) Rutz of Highland, and Nancy (Tom) Zaloga of
Highland.
A brother-in-law, Harold Schwarz of
Grantfork.
Wendelin retired as a lifetime Dairy
and Grain Farmer.
He was a member of St. Rose Church
and Men’s Sodality, St. Rose Development Club, St. Rose Fire
Department (23 years of service), Breese Knights of Columbus Council
2869, National Farmer’s Association, and was a Veteran of the United
States Army.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial
will be Thursday, November 15, 2007 at 2:00 PM at St. Rose Catholic
Church in St. Rose with Fr. James Flach officiating. Interment will
follow in St. Rose Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday,
November 14, 2007 from 4:00-9:00 PM and again on Thursday, November
15, 2007 from 11:00 AM-1:30 PM at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese.
Breese
Knights of Columbus will pray the Rosary at 7:00 PM on Wednesday
evening at the funeral home.
Memorials can be made to St. Rose
Church, Mater Dei High School, Hospice of Southern Illinois, or St.
Rose Fire Department and will be received at the funeral home. |
