Thomas E. “Leroy” Totten, 60, of Trenton, died Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese. 

He was born June 19, 1947 in Dallas, TX to Patricia (nee Ruennels) Mattinglly and the late L.C. Totten; his mother survives in Dallas, TX. 

He married Jean Schmitz on April 2, 1977 in Denver, CO; she survives in Trenton, IL. 

Also surviving are his children, Joshua (Erin) Totten of Trenton, Jason (fiancée Ashley Ford) Totten of Trenton, Tina (Emory) Berry of Carlyle, and Patricia Totten of Trenton. 

Brothers, Larry (Penny) Totten, Paul Michael (Bonnie) Totten, and sisters, Sandra (John) Boog-Scott and Vickie (Stan) Irvin all of Texas. 

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Noah Thomas Totten-Berry, his step-father, Bill “Tuffy” Mattinglly, and his grandmother, Florence Flanningan. 

Leroy was a Machine Operator with a Metal Fabrication Company. 

He was a member of Carlyle VFW 3523. 

Funeral Services will be Friday, February 1, 2008 at 10:00 AM at the Moss Funeral Home in Trenton with Rev. Gretchen Sterrett officiating.  Interment will follow in Trenton Cemetery.   

Visitation will be Thursday, January 31, 2008 from 4:00-9:00 PM and again on Friday, February 1, 2008 from 9:00-10:00 AM at the Moss Funeral Home in Trenton. 

Memorials can be made to his daughter Patricia’s Educational Fund or to the donor’s choice and will be received at the funeral home.
