Charles A. "Charlie" Wilken, 61, of
Bartelso died Saturday February 28, 2004 at Barnes Hospital in St.
Louis.
Charlie was a correctional officer at Centralia and Southwestern
Correctional Centers. He was a member of St. Cecilia Church Bartelso,
the Bartelso Catholic War Veterans, the Bartelso American Legion and
a Bartelso volunteer Fire man where he served as secretary Treasure.
He was born April 13, 1942 in Bartelso to Henry and Frances (Trame)
Wilken. He married Joyce Erlinger November 28, 1964 in St. Cecilia
Church Bartelso and she survives in Bartelso.
Also surviving is a son Brad Wilken of Belleville and daughters
Tracy (Scott) Howell of Bartelso and Lori (Guy) Penwell of
Broomfield Colorado.
6 grandchildren, Jake, Gracie, Ashlee and Alex Howell; Zane and
Quincy Wilken.
Also surviving are brothers Bill (Pat) Wilken of Trenton and
David (Vickie) Wilken of Bartelso; sisters Joanne (Butch) Gawlick of
Cuero Texas, pat (Alfred) Toennies of Damiansville, Barb (George)
Harshaw of Maryville, Il, Donna (Bill) Book of Trenton, Mary Kay
(Jerry) Winkeler of Glen Carbon and Susie (Denny) Diehl of
Belleville.
Also surviving is his mother-in-law Annette Erlinger of Bartelso
Also surviving are Sisters-in-law Janice (Ralph) Kohrmann of
Bartelso and Shirley (Gary) Robben of St. Simons Island, GA,
Also surviving is a Brother-in-law Ron (Pat) Erlinger of Albers
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Rob Wilken
Funeral services will be held Wednesday March 3, 2004 at 2 PM at
St. Cecilia Church Bartelso
with Fr. Henry Fischer Officiating, interment ST. Cecilia
Cemetery. Friends may call at the Moss Funeral Home in Germantown
Tuesday March 2 from 4 to 9 Pm and Wednesday from 11 am to 1:30 Pm
at the Moss Funeral Home in Germantown. Memorials can be made to the
American Heart Association and will be received at the funeral a
home.
