Howard “Ward” Burhanna III, MSGT USAF,
Ret., 57 of Trenton, died Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at Barnes Jewish
Hospital in St. Louis.
Mr. Burhanna was born October 31,
1952 at Wright Patterson AFB, OH to Gertrude (McDowell) and Howard
Burhanna, Jr.; they preceded him in death.
He married Patricia “Patty” Michlo on
September 6, 1980 at Eglin AFB, FL; she survives in Trenton.
Also surviving are his daughters,
Kristin and Lisa Burhanna of Trenton; a sister, Lynne (Bruce) Phelps
of Clayton, CA; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Maria (Tom)
Michaelson of Edgewood, WA and Cathy (John) Barklage of Aurora, CO;
and 3 nieces and 2 nephews.
Ward retired as a Master Sergeant
from the United States Air Force and currently worked as a Network
Manager at Jim’s Formal Wear in Trenton.
He was a member of the St. Louis
Soaring Association and Airplane Owner Pilots Association. He
enjoyed Gliders, riding Motorcycles and many outdoor activities.
Memorial Service will be Saturday,
April 24, 2010 at 11:00 am at the Moss Funeral Home in Trenton with
Pastor Matthew Hampel officiating.
Visitation will be Saturday, April
24, 2010 from 9:00-11:00 am at the Moss Funeral Home in Trenton.
Memorials can be made to Hospice of
Southern Illinois or Family Hospice and will be received at the
funeral home.
