Bernadine M. Hemker, nee Eversgerd,
95 of Bartelso, died Friday, April 9, 2010 at Aviston Countryside
Manor.
Mrs. Hemker was born November 14,
1914 in Germantown,
IL to Ludwig and Mary (Wilken)
Eversgerd; they preceded her in death.
She married Edward Hemker Sr. on May
10, 1938 at St. Boniface
Catholic Church in
Germantown; he preceded her in death on May 5, 1995.
Also preceded in death by a son,
Edward Hemker Jr.; granddaughters, Sharon Hemker, Nita Hemker-Wall,
and Mary Rickhoff; a son-in-law, Clarence “Yank” Rickhoff; brothers,
Louis Eversgerd, Alvin Eversgerd, Joe Eversgerd, and her twin
Alphonse Eversgerd; and sisters-in-law, Censie Eversgerd, Helen
Eversgerd, and Betty Eversgerd.
Surviving are her children, Louis
“Sonny” (Jane) Hemker of Bartelso, Florence “Flo” (Julius) Rickhoff-Granda
of Bartelso, Ethel (Laverne) Zurliene of Beckemeyer, Robert (Carol)
Hemker of Bartelso, and Marvin (Janet) Hemker of Bartelso; a
daughter-in-law, Eileen Goldman of Carlyle; 34 Grandchildren, 63
Great-Grandchildren, and 6 Great-Great-Grandchildren; and a
sister-in-law, Olive Eversgerd of Albuquerque, NM.
Bernadine was a homemaker and a
member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church and Altar Sodality in
Bartelso, the Young at Heart Club, Clinton County Farm Bureau, and
St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial
will be Monday, April 12, 2010 at 2:00 pm at St. Cecilia Catholic
Church in Bartelso with Fr. Henry Fischer officiating. Interment
will follow in St. Cecilia Cemetery, Bartelso.
Visitation will be Sunday, April 11,
2010 from 4:00-8:00 pm and again on Monday, April 12, 2010 from
11:00 am-1:30 pm at the Moss Funeral Home in Germantown.
Memorials can be made to St. Cecilia
Catholic Church and will be received at the funeral home. |
