Raymond J. Holtmann, 83, of Germantown, died Friday, January 29, 2010 at Breese Nursing Home. 

Mr. Holtmann was born September 25, 1926 in Albers, IL to George and Mary (Huene) Holtmann; they preceded him in death. 

Also preceded in death by sisters, Alice Toennies and Loretta Schwend; a sister-in-law, Clara Richard; and brothers-in-law, Ron Huegen, Bill Spaeth, and Roland Richard. 

He married Adeline Thuenemann on May 9, 1957 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown; she survives in Germantown. 

In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, Steven (Anita) Holtmann of Davenport, IA and Glennon (Kimberly) Holtmann of Germantown; 4 Grandchildren, Ryan Holtmann, Ashley Holtmann, Scott (Fran) Holtmann, and Kelly (friend Jake Perez) Holtmann; 2 Great-Grandchildren, Landon and Jason Holtmann; brothers, Clarence (Isabelle) Holtmann of Albers and Greg “David” (Dorothy) Holtmann of New Baden; sisters, Mary Ann Spaeth of Trenton, Dolores (Cyril) Poettker of Breese, and Ruth Huegen of Summerfield; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Pauline (Leonard) Frohn of Pierron, Adrian (Trudy) Toennies and Calvin Schwend all of Trenton; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Raymond retired from Hunter Packing Company and was a farmer.  He was a member of St. Boniface Church, Breese Knights of Columbus Council 2869, Sons of the American Legion in Albers, and the Clinton County Farm Bureau. 

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at 11:00 AM at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown with Fr. James Buerster and Deacon Rich Bagby officiating.  Interment will follow in St. Boniface Cemetery, Germantown. 

Visitation will be Monday, February 1, 2010 from 4:00-9:00 PM and again on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 from 9:00-10:45 AM at the Moss Funeral Home in Germantown. 

Memorials can be made to St. Boniface Church or to the Donor’s Choice and will be received at the funeral home. 

The Breese Knights of Columbus will pray the Rosary at 7:00 PM Monday evening at the funeral home.
