Ambrose “Lloyd” Layne, SSgt-Ret., USAF ,73, of Trenton, died Saturday October 24, 2009 at his residence. 

He was born November 25, 1935 in Morehead, KY to Clyde and Golda (Davis) Layne; they preceded him in death. 

Also preceded in death by brothers, Johnny and Bill Layne, and a sister, Juanita Layne. 

He married Billie Williamson, December 17, 1960 in East St. Louis and she survives in Trenton. 

Also surviving are his children, Robert (Jackie) Layne of St. Peters, MO, Charles (Jody) Layne of Trenton, and Charlene Taylor of Pueblo, CO. 

8 grandchildren, William, Brooke, Chris, Andie, Erin, Josh and Danny Layne, Kennedy Taylor. 

Lloyd retired as a SSgt from the U.S. Air Force, he worked 23 years at Welsh Baby Buggy Factory in Trenton, and then Clean Uniform maintenance in Highland and Highland Wal-Mart.

Member of Trenton American Legion Post 778 and Trenton Sportsman’s Club, where he loved to fish. 

Funeral service Tuesday October 27, 2009 at 10:00 am at Moss Funeral Home n Trenton with Rev. Debbie Melzer officiating. Interment Lakeview memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights. 

Visitation will be Monday October 26 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and Tuesday October 27 from 8 to time of Services at the Moss Funeral Home in Trenton. 

Memorials can be made to American Lung Association and will be received at the funeral home .

Trenton American Legion will hold services at 7:00 PM Monday at he funeral home.
