Wendell H. “Wendy” Loepker, 77, of
Breese, entered into rest on January 9, 2010 at his residence.
Mr. Loepker was born September 24,
1932 in Bartelso to Herman and Mary (Linnemann) Loepker; they
preceded him in death.
Also preceded in death by
brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Willie and Frances Beckmann,
Rita and Vince Hemker, and Frank Beckmann.
He married Lucille “Lue” Beckmann on
May 29, 1956 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Bartelso; she survives in Breese.
In addition to his wife, he is
survived by his children, Cindy (Mike) Niemeyer, Roger (Cheryl)
Loepker, Brian (Donna) Loepker all of Breese, Julie (Brad) Bassler
of New Market, AL, and Christi (Bruce) Schlimpert of Perryville, MO;
14 Grandchildren, Angi, Nick, and Luke (Rebecca) Niemeyer, Jeff
(Dana), Cory, Chris, and Brandon Loepker, Alex and Phillip Loepker,
Austin, Lauren, Coleton, and Camryn Bassler, and Dillon Schlimpert;
brothers and sisters, Dennis (Mutzie) Loepker of Germantown,
Florence (Ralph) Lampe of Aviston, Gene (Gerty) Loepker of Bartelso,
Betty (Larry) Deerhake of Germantown, and Bob (Jeanette) Loepker of
Bartelso; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Christine Beckmann of
Germantown, Eleanor (Tony) Lengermann of Highland, Alice (John)
Wellen of Highland, Dorothy (Phonse) Pollmann of Carlyle, and Alvin
Beckmann of Bartelso; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Wendy retired as a dairy and grain
farmer and was a Veteran of the United States Army serving as a Mess
Sergeant during the Korean Conflict (1951-1953).
He was a member of St. Augustine
Church and Men’s Sodality, Breese Knights of Columbus Council 2869,
Breese American Legion Post 252, Past Trustee for St. Augustine
Grade School, Clinton County Farm Bureau, and the Concordia
Saengerchor.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will
be Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at 11:00 AM at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese with Fr. Richard Mohr, Fr.
Vince Haselhorst, Fr. Chuck Tuttle and Deacon Bob Lippert
officiating. Interment will follow in St. Dominic/St. Augustine
Cemetery, Breese.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January
12, 2010 from 4:00-9:00 PM and again on Wednesday, January 13, 2010
from 8:00-10:30 AM at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese.
Memorials can be made to All Saints
Academy or Mater Dei High School and will be received at the funeral
home.
The
Breese American Legion will hold services at 7:00 PM and the Breese
Knights of Columbus will pray the Rosary at 7:30 PM Tuesday evening
at the funeral home. |
