Paul J. Mannhard, 91 of Trenton,
died Thursday, March 18, 2010 at Highland Health Care Center in
Highland.
Mr. Mannhard was born January 15,
1919 in Highland,
IL to Mary (Luber) and John L.
Mannhard, Jr.; they preceded him in death.
In addition to his parents, he was
also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Scott Wernle; a brother,
Maurice Mannhard; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Floyd
“Buck” Kirstein, Marcellus “Tune” Mannhard, Ted Zurliene, Lloyd “Eb”
Willeford, Alvin and Justine Landolt, Elmer and Pauline Landolt,
Verna and Elmer Frisse, Marie and Fred “Fritz” Reinacher, and
Shirley and Walter Strohmeier.
Surviving is his wife of 66 years,
Eileen Landolt whom he married November 25, 1943 at St. Gertrude
Church in Grantfork; his children, Diane Mannhard and Carole
Mannhard both of Trenton, and James (Kathy) Mannhard and Linda
Wernle all of Highland; 3 grandchildren, Jacob and Jared Wernle, and
Nicholas Mannhard; a brother, Louis Mannhard of Phoenix, AZ;
sisters, Sr. Johnilda Mannhard, PHJC of Donnellson, IN, Irene
Zurliene of Lebanon, and Rita Kirstein of Marion, TX; and
sisters-in-law, Vera Mannhard of Germantown and Ruby Willeford of
Highland.
Paul and his wife owned and operated
Mannhard Hardware Store in Trenton. He also enjoyed farming,
hunting, fishing, and trips to Branson.
He was a member of St. Mary Church
and past member of the men’s Sodality in Trenton, past member of the
Trenton Chamber of Commerce, and was a retired Trenton Volunteer
Fire Fighter after 38 years of service.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial
will be Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at 10:00 am
at St. Mary Church in Trenton
with Fr. Eugene Kreher officiating. Interment will follow in St.
Mary
Cemetery,
Trenton.
Visitation will be Monday, March 22,
2010 from 4:00-8:00 pm and again on Tuesday. March 23, 2010 from
8:00-9:45 am at the Moss
Funeral Home in Trenton.
Memorials can be made to the Trenton
Volunteer Fire Department and will be received at the funeral home. |
