Leona J. Mueller, nee Beckmann, 99 of Germantown, died Thursday, June 24, 2010 at Aviston Countryside Manor.

Mrs. Mueller was born May 2, 1911 in Germantown to Fred and Christine (Albers) Beckmann; they preceded her in death.

She married Herman “Sam” Holtmann September 10, 1935 at St. Boniface Church in Germantown and he preceded her in death January 1938 

She then married Aloys “Charlie” Mueller on October 25, 1958 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Belleville; he preceded her in death on August 28, 2008.

Also preceded in death by brothers, Martin “Mac” Beckmann and Leon Beckmann; sisters, Carrie Hagenhoff, Florence Holtmann, and Grace Meier 

Surviving is a daughter, Betty (Jin) Frerker of Belleville; 5 Grandchildren, Mary Parker of Fairview Heights, Brenda (Kenny) Voelkerding of O’Fallon, Nancy (David) Wilhelm of Belleville, Dana (Chris) Reibling of Normal and Damian “Kraut” (Lisa) Frerker of Belleville; 8 great grandchildren 

Brothers, Alfred (Dorothy) Beckmann of Germantown and Vernal (Nancy) Beckmann of St. Louis; and sisters, Sue Kalmer of Germantown and Pat Kaatman of St. Louis. 

Leona was a homemaker and avid card player and quilter.   

She was a member of St. Boniface Church and Altar Sodality, and a charter member of the Germantown American Legion post 325 Auxiliary. 

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, June 28, 2010 at 11:00 am at St. Boniface Church in Germantown with Fr. James Buerster and Deacon Rich Bagby officiating.  Interment will follow in St. Boniface Cemetery. 

Visitation will be Monday, June 28, 2010 from 9:00-10:45 am at the Moss Funeral Home in Germantown. 

Memorials can be made to Donors Choice and will be received at the funeral home.
