Helen A. Rule, nee Haar, 86, of Breese, died Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at Carlyle Health Care Center. 

Mrs. Rule was born September 10, 1923 in Breese, IL to Fred and Wilhelmina (Grawe) Haar; they preceded her in death. 

She married Leonard Rule on August 12, 1947 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese, IL; he preceded her in death on April 6, 1972. 

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a grandson, Joseph Santel; sisters, Catherine Haar and Marie Schulte; brothers, Harry Haar and Wilbert Haar; sisters-in-law, Wylette Baer and Millie Haar; and brothers-in-law, Otto Schulte, Donald Rule, LaRue Rule, William Rule, and Lester Baer. 

Surviving are her children, Janet (Terry) Finney of Odin, Mary (Tom) Santel of Aviston, and Randy (Angie) Rule of Aviston; 9 Grandchildren, Marc (Tish) Finney, Chris (Dawn) Finney, Keith (Misty) Finney, Shannon (Tim) Wright, Erin (Danny) Bassen, Becky (Mike) Wesselmann, Kirstie Rule, Kailee Rule, and Mitchel Rule; 17 Great-Grandchildren; a brother, Andy (Janet) Haar of New Jersey; and sisters-in-law, Geri Haar of Breese and Gladys Rule of Lancaster, PA 

Helen was a homemaker and a member of St. Augustine Church and Altar Sodality in Breese and Daughters of Isabella Precious Blood Circle 718.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, April 9, 2010 at 10:00 am at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese with Fr. Daniel Friedman officiating.  Interment will follow in St. Dominic/St. Augustine Cemetery, Breese. 

Visitation will be Thursday, April 8, 2010 from 4:00-9:00 pm and again on Friday, April 9, 2010 from 8:00-9:45 am at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese.

The Daughters of Isabella will pray the Rosary at 7:00 pm Thursday evening at the funeral home. 

Memorials can be made to Heartland Hospice and will be received at the funeral home.
