Norma M. Seger, nee Bellm, 95, of
Trenton, died Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at Granite Nursing and Rehab Center in Granite City.
Mrs. Seger was born January 26, 1915
in Pocahontas, IL to Robert and Ida (Wagner)
Bellm; they preceded her in death.
She married her husband of 68 years,
Ralph Seger on September 3, 1938 at St. Paul Catholic Church in
Highland; he preceded her in death on March 18, 2007.
In addition to her parents and
husband, she was preceded in death by her sons, Jerome and Lawrence
Seger; a sister, Verda Neudecker; a grandson, Charles K. Wood; a
son-in-law, Charles H. Wood; and a grandson-in-law, Terry Miller.
Surviving is a daughter, Jolene
(Frank) Bray of Jacksonville, FL; 3 grandchildren, Barbara Miller of
Wood River, IL, Patrice (Mark) Singletary of Plant City, FL, and
Jacklyn (Richard) Ray of Myrtle Beach, SC; a granddaughter-in-law,
Lori Wood of Jacksonville, FL; a step-granddaughter, Dawn (Jim)
Myers of Edgewater, FL; 10 Great-Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great
Grandchildren; a sister, Genevieve Wehrheim of Belleville; a
brother-in-law, Edward Neudecker of Highland; and numerous nieces
and nephews.
Mrs. Seger was born on the farm
between Pocahontas and Pierron, IL. After she completed high
school, she worked at the Moultan-Bartley Shoe Factory in Highland
for several years. Following her marriage, she and her husband
operated a grain and livestock farm southeast of St. Jacob, IL until
retiring in 1978. They moved to Trenton, IL in 1981. Mr. and Mrs. Seger
traveled frequently. Mrs. Seger enjoyed doing “Fancy
Work”-crocheting, needlework, sewing; she also enjoyed dancing,
gardening, playing cards, and her family.
She was a member of St. Mary Church
and Altar Sodality and the Trenton Senior Citizens.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will
be Monday, February 1, 2010 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church in
Trenton with Fr. Gene Kreher officiating. Interment will follow in
St. Mary Cemetery,
Trenton.
Visitation will be Sunday, January
31, 2010 from 4:00-8:00 PM and again on Monday, February 1, 2010
from 8:00-9:45 AM at the Moss Funeral home in
Trenton.
Memorials can be made to St. Mary
Church and will be received at the funeral home. |
