Delores Frances “Dee” Spees, nee
Lampe, 85 of Richwoods,
MO and formerly of Harrisburg,
IL, died Saturday, March 20,
2010 at her residence.
Mrs. Spees was born November 4, 1924
in Germantown,
IL to Bernard August and Mary Agnes
“Mamie” (Norrenberns) Lampe; they preceded her in death.
In addition to her parents she was
also preceded in death by husbands, Samuel Ryan Love whom she
married June 29, 1945 in St. Louis, MO and Durward Spees whom she
married in 1975 in Beaver, UT; a step-mother, Pauline (Eilermann)
Lampe; a brother, Richard “Slugger” Lampe; a grandson, Christopher
Schwerdtfeger; a great-granddaughter, Frances Nease; and a step-son,
Terry Spees.
Surviving are her children, Tom
(Susie) Love of Orland Park, IL, Kathie (Charley) Banks of
Harrisburg, IL, Donna (Danny) Miley of Richwoods, MO, Richard Love
of Harrisburg, IL, Robert Love of Baton Rouge, LA, and Mary Beth
(Andrew) Schwerdtfeger of Fayetteville, AR; 18 Grandchildren and 24
Great-Grandchildren; brothers, James “Stix” (Joanne) Lampe of
Germantown, IL, Jerry (Pat) Lampe, Dan (Ruth) Lampe, and Paul
(Elaine) Lampe all of Breese, IL; a sister-in-law, Joan Lampe of
Breese, IL; and step-children, Louella, Sue, Teresa, and families.
Dee retired as a hostess manager at
The Gateway Restaurant and Lounge in Muddy, IL and formerly worked
as a Nurses Aid.
She was a former member of St.
Mary’s Catholic Church in Harrisburg,
IL where she taught PSR and
Pre-Cana and currently was a member of St. Stephen’s Catholic
Church, Altar Sodality, and League of Mary in Richwoods,
MO. Her faith in God was of
paramount importance to her as it carried her through a long journey
of life, love, and losses, giving witness and peaceful hope of God’s
eternal rewards for those who believe in him. This is the legacy
which she has left; To Follow, Trust, and Believe in God.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial
will be Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at 11:00 am
at St. Boniface Catholic Church in
Germantown,
IL with Fr. James Buerster
and Fr. Robert Liss officiating. Interment will follow in St.
Boniface Cemetery, Germantown, IL.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March
24, 2010 from 9:00-10:45 AM at St. Boniface Catholic Church in
Germantown,
IL with the Rosary being recited at
9:30 am.
In lieu of flowers memorials are
suggested to the St. Boniface Cemetery Fund, Germantown,
IL or to St. Stephens Church,
11515 Highway A, P.O. Box 203, Richwoods, MO 63071 and will be
received at the church or through Moss Funeral Home in Germantown,
IL who is in charge of the arrangements. |
