Agnes M. Winkeler, age 99, of Bartelso, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Evercare of Breese. She was born April 1, 1927, in Germantown, the daughter of Ben & Sophia (nee Kniepmann) Rickhoff.

On September 13, 1950, at her home, she married Frank J. Winkeler, Jr., who passed away June 16, 1998.

Agnes is survived by her children, Dennis “Surge” (Nancy) Winkeler, Larry (Joyce) Winkeler and Carla (Joe) Pitt; son-in-law, Danny (Linny) Haar; grandchildren, Kelvin (Melissa) Winkeler, Brad (Michelle) Winkeler, Scott Winkeler, Alan (Megan) Winkeler, Todd (Shelly) Winkeler, Jamie (Kyler) Fehrmann, Jacob Pitt and Ashley Pitt; 13 great-grandchildren; siblings, Dolores Seelhoefer and Edward “Peabody” (Dolores “Girlie”) Rickhoff; and many nieces and nephews.

Agnes is preceded in death by her husband; parents; daughter, Diane Haar; brothers, Vincent “Peggy” (Sue) Rickhoff, Raymond “Doc” (Hannah) Rickhoff and Clarence “Yank” (Flossie) Rickhoff; brother-in-law, Herman Seelhoefer and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law from the Winkeler family.

Agnes spent her life creating a warm, welcoming home filled with love, laughter, and the sweet aroma of fresh baking. As a dedicated homemaker, her heart and hands were always full. There was rarely a day when a beautiful new quilt wasn't stretched across the frame in her home, carefully stitched with patience and care. She also had worked at Carlyle shoe factory, Hammer’s Restaurant and West End Tavern.

Her kitchen was the center of family life, famous for its endless supply of homemade cookies and perfect pies, as well as canning homemade goods. When she wasn't looking after her home, Agnes loved the excitement of playing bingo with friends. Above all, her greatest joy came from spending time with her family. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, tradition, and unconditional love.
