- Full Obituary
Carol S. Metzger, age 83, of Trenton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at her home. She was born February 15, 1942, in Belleville, a daughter of the late George and Cecilia (nee Wurz) Fink.
Carol married Jim Metzger on July 4, 1964, in Belleville and he survives in Trenton. Carol is also survived by her sister-in-law, Jeanne Burd of Florida, and nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents; sons, James Jacob “Jay” “JJ” Metzger and Joseph M. “Joe” Metzger; sisters, Rosemary Reeves, Lucy Fris, Margie Oliver, and Judy Joellenbeck; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Wilbert and Lucille (nee Miller) Metzger; and sister-in-law, Gloria Maue.
A dedicated public servant, Carol worked for twenty years as the Trenton City Clerk and also embraced her role as a homemaker. She was a devoted member of the First United Methodist Church in Trenton and formerly served as a Cub Scout Leader.
Carol’s passions in life were as vibrant as her spirit. She found joy in dancing with the Country Kickers and taught line dancing and couples dancing alongside her husband. Her love of country music, poetry, and adventure led her to travel, camp, fish, and boat—always embracing life with enthusiasm and grace.
