Cynthia I. “Cindy” Klein, age 76, of Trenton, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at HSHS St. Joseph Hospital in Breese. On January 25, 1950, she was born to Joseph and Maria (nee Rozario) Jones, in Anna, IL.
She married Terry L. Klein on July 27, 2019, at Copper Dock Winery in Pocahontas, IL; he survives in Trenton.
She is survived by her loving children, Renee Junker of Swansea, Stefanie (Michael) Roy of Swansea, and Jaimee (Kevin) Bridges of Troy; step-children, Steve Klein of Columbia, SC, Michelle Oechsner (Joe Sanfilippo) of Weldon Springs, MO, and Chad Klein of Maryville; cherished grandchildren, Taylor (Ben) Kurz, Grant Junker, Katelynn Roy, and Ryan Roy; step-grandchildren, Kayla (Keith) Rankin, Tayler (Jonathan) Esselstyn, Hanna Oechsner, and Brady Oechsner; siblings, Patti (Terry) Storer and Georgia Gorline; and sister-in-law, Lisa (Steve) Schroeder. Cindy was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Mike Jones; brothers-in-law, Tee Gorline and Aaron Klein; and step-granddaughter, Emily Oeschner.
A 1968 graduate of Greenville High School, Cindy brought creativity, rhythm, and flavor to every aspect of her life. A vibrant soul with a lifelong passion for music and dancing, she loved the music of Bruno Mars and even spent time working as a disco DJ. Her artistic eye was evident throughout her career—from her many years as a store designer for Value City Furniture to hosting events with Simply Cynthia's Paint Parties. She took immense pride in her work at Cracker Barrel, where she earned the distinction of 4-Star Lead Trainer, and she proudly served her community as an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 1239. When she wasn't creating art or dancing, she found joy in the quiet pleasures of fishing and gardening. A true master in the kitchen, Cindy was famous for her delicious homemade bread, signature rum cake, and legendary potato salad. Above all else, she treasured every moment spent with her family, including her cherished furry kids, Chili, Harvey, and Bruno.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the Aviston American Legion. All friends, family, and those whose lives Cindy touched are warmly invited to attend and celebrate her life.
In lieu of flowers, plants, or other gifts, memorials may be made to the wishes of the family (checks payable to Renee Junker) and will be received at the Celebration of Life or by mail at Moss Funeral Home, 535 N. 5th St., Breese, IL 62230, who is serving the family.
