Jared M. Emig, age 39, of Trenton, died Monday, January 15, 2018 at his home.

 

Mr. Emig was born July 19, 1978 in Belleville, a son of Gilbert and Margie, nee Zurliene, Emig of Trenton.

 

Jared loved his family and friends more than life itself. His family was his pride and joy as he leaves behind his parents; wife Lisa, nee Hart, Emig of Trenton, whom he married December 17, 2011 at St. George Church in New Baden and two children, Briar (4) and Lennon (3); brother, Colby (Becky) Emig of Highland; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Randy and Pat, nee Simpson, Hart of Troy; sister-in-law, Christy Hart of Edwardsville; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

 

He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Aloys and Marie, nee Haselhorst, Zurliene; paternal grandparents, Gualberd and Clara, nee Luitjohan, Emig; and 5 uncles.

 

Jared had many hobbies in his life. He was an avid outdoorsman and found peace while hunting and fishing. Jared most recently harvested an elk and mule deer in Montana with the Jared Burke Foundation. In addition, he enjoyed camping during the summer and participating in demolition derbies.

 

Jared was a talented fabricator and skilled craftsman. He began working at Spaeth Welding in New Baden at the young age of 16 and was employed there until his passing.

 

He never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helpful hand. His legacy will live on forever and his memory will always be in our hearts.

 

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, January 19, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Trenton with Fr. Joseph Rascher presiding. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Trenton.

 

Visitation will be Thursday, January 18, 2018 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and again on Friday, January 19, 2018 from 8:00-9:30 a.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Trenton.

 

In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made for his children’s education fund and will be received at the funeral home. (checks may be made to Lisa Emig)
