    Kenneth Dale “Ken” Keilbach, age 59, of Breese passed away on Saturday, March 20, 2021 surrounded by his family.

     

    He was born September 10, 1961 to Dale and Gerri, nee Essenpreis, Keilbach.  He married his best friend Deb Pingsterhaus on September 26, 1987 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Beckemeyer.  They have two children, Jared Keilbach and Kalyn (Corey) Thurman; and two grandsons, Jaxon and Wyatt, all of whom were the center of his universe.

     

    Ken is survived by his mother, Gerri Keilbach; brother, Jason (Dawn) Keilbach; sisters, Gina Shannon, Jill (Mike) Simonton, Kris (Willie) Pruitt, Shae Keilbach and Lindsey Keilbach; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Florence and Charlie Pingsterhaus; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lisa and Mark Huelsmann; good friend, Kevin Foppe; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles who he dearly loved.

     

    He was preceded in death by his father, Dale Keilbach; his paternal grandparents, Ed and Lydia Keilbach; his maternal grandparents, Melvin and Mart Essenpreis; and his brother-in-law, Chuck Reilmann.

     

    Ken was a graduate of Central High School Breese.  He was a member of Painters Local Union 120 for over 30 years and was an active member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Beckemeyer.  Ken worked for SIUE for over 12 years where he had many good friends.

     

    Ken enjoyed spending time will his family, especially his best buddies Jaxon and Wyatt.  He loved deer hunting with his son, brother, brothers-in-law and nephews.  Ken loved to pheasant and quail hunt and spent countless hours with his dogs, Sadie and Miley.  Ken and Deb enjoyed many good times with friends, whether it be hunting, Jeeping, a trip to the wineries, out to eat, or extended trips.  Ken was a friend to everyone who knew him and he was the best “Papa Ken” ever.

     

    Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, March 26, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Beckemeyer with Fr. Chuck Tuttle presiding.  Interment will follow at St. Anthony’s Cemetery.

     

    Visitation will be Thursday, March 25, 2021 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and again Friday, March 26, 2021 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Breese.

     

    COVID-19 restrictions will be followed, masks required, social distancing, please keep your visit brief and mass will be limited to 95 people.

     

    In lieu of flowers, plants, and other gifts, memorials may be made to the St. Anthony’s Cemetery Fund, St. Joseph’s Breese Hospital Foundation, Mater Dei Catholic High School Foundation, All Saints Academy or Breese Humane Society and will be received at the funeral home or by mail, Moss Funeral Home, 535 N. 5th, Breese, IL 62230 who is serving the family.
