    Michael O. Hamilton, 65, of New Baden, died Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, IL.

    Mr. Hamilton was born November 20, 1949 in Washington, PA to Stanley and Rebekah (Ames) Hamilton; they preceded him in death.

    In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a grandson, Nathan Lintzenich; a brother, Stephen Hamilton; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ben C. and Eleanor (Schmidt) Harpstrite; and a brother-in-law, James Harpstrite.

    He married Janice Harpstrite-Zeller on December 4, 1993 at First United Methodist Church in Trenton; she survives in New Baden.

    Also surviving are his daughters, Ashley Hamilton of Denver, CO and Dawn Lintzenich of Breese, IL; 3 grandchildren, Aidan Hamilton, Mikaela and Caleb Lintzenich; siblings, Tim (Vicki) Hamilton of Virginia and Rebekah (Norma Jackson) Hamilton of Texas; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Barbara Hamilton of New Orleans, LA, Karen (Mike) Riley, Cheryl (Rick) Parkin, and Janine (Ed) Wuebbles all of New Baden; an uncle, Howard (Jackie Rickert) Harpstrite of Trenton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

    Mike was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving from 1974-1981. He then worked as a Contract Specialist, retiring from the Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization at Scott Air Force Base, IL and worked as an election judge in Clinton County. He enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling, and especially hiking in the mountains. Mike also enjoyed history and researching the Civil War.

    Funeral Services will be Thursday, January 15, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Trenton with Pastor Mike Rucker officiating. Interment with full military honors will be in Trenton Cemetery, Trenton, IL.

    Visitation will be Thursday, January 15, 2015 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Trenton.

    Memorials can be made to the First United Methodist Church in Trenton or to the wishes of the family and will be received at the church or through Moss Funeral Home, 105 S. Main, Trenton, IL 62293 who is in charge of the arrangements.
