Henry F. “Jitter” Albers, Jr., age 88 of Damiansville, died Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at his residence.

Mr. Albers was born May 20, 1926 in Bartelso, a son of Cecilia (Usselmann) and Henry F. Albers, Sr.; they preceded him in death.

He married Lucille “Lu” Toennies on May 10, 1950 at St. Damian Catholic Church in Damiansville; she preceded him in death on May 23, 1989.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by his sons, Allen and Glennon Albers; sisters, Leona Voss and Viola Korte; brothers Norbert Albers and Gene Albers; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Al Voss, Ed Korte, Marie Albers, Margie Albers, Robert Von Bokel, Emma Toennies, Walter Toennies, Cletus Toennies, Joe Toennies, and Norm Toennies.

Surviving are his children, Marvin Albers of Albers, Yvonne (Melvin) Heimann of Breese, Dave (Shirley) Albers of Damiansville, Sue (Jim) Frick of Nashville, Mary (Wayne) Berry of Hoffman, Ann (Mick) Bowen of Damiansville, Gary (Lisa) Albers of Damiansville, and Tim (Lisa) Albers of Breese; 27 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; a sister, Dolores Von Bokel of Aviston; a brother, Rich Albers of Bartelso; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Alvin (Rita) Toennies of Damiansville, Marie (Greg) Niemeyer of Breese, Julie Toennies of New Baden, Bernadette Toennies of Germantown, Bernice “Bim” (Frank) Fuehne of Damiansville, Jerry (Sharon) Toennies of Waterloo, Jane Toennies of Breese, Germaine (Herb) Schulte of Trenton, and Jan (Tom) Eversgerd of Germantown; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jitter retired from Ford Motor Company and enjoyed playing cards, dancing, gardening, bowling and traveling.

He was a member of St. Damian Catholic Church and former officer of the Holy Name in Damiansville, United Auto Workers Local 136, former officer of the Damiansville Chamber of Commerce, and a life member of the Breese Knights of Columbus Council 2869.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Damian Catholic Church in Damiansville with Fr. Jack Joyce and Deacon Glenn Netemeyer officiating. Interment will follow in St. Damian Cemetery, Damiansville.

Visitation will be Friday, March 6, 2015 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and again on Saturday, March 7, 2015 from 8:00-9:15 a.m. at the Moss Funeral Home in Germantown.

Memorials can be made to Juvenile Diabetes Association or Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be received at the funeral home.

Breese Knights of Columbus member s will hold services Friday at 7:00 PM at the funeral home.

Sandra Kay Heimbecker, age 62 of Beckemeyer, and formerly of Germantown, died Saturday, February 28, 2015 at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese.

Mrs. Heimbecker was born March 23, 1952 in Ottumwa, IA to Mescal “Mickey”, nee Williams, and Clarence Vernon Barker; they preceded her in death.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a great-grandson, Wyatt Guthrie; and sisters, Sharon Tate and Sue VanDusen.

She married Bill Heimbecker on May 8, 1971 and he survives in Germantown, IL.

In addition, she is also survived by her children, Shanon Schroeder of Savannah, GA, Carol (Steve) Deien of Aviston, Willie Heimbecker of Germantown, John (fiancée Annie Grimm) Heimbecker of O’Fallon, and Katie (Kevin) Schlautmann of Beckemeyer; 7 grandchildren, Casey and Haley Schroeder, Andrew and Kelsey Deien, Chase and Blake Heimbecker, and Fallon Schlautmann.; and siblings, Shyrel (Greg) Kelley, Sonya White, Mike (Vera) Nelson all of Kentucky and Sheila Walls of Nebraska.

Sandy worked in accounting for White Star Silos in Germantown, IL and was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown, IL. She enjoyed quilting and going on motorcycle rides.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, March 5, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown, IL with Fr. James Buerster officiating.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 4, 2015 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and again on Thursday, March 5, 2015 from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at the Moss Funeral Home in Germantown, IL.

Memorials can be made to Faith for Fallon Schlautmann and will be received at the funeral home.

Margaret Ann “Margie” Ripperda, nee Deien, age 73 of Highland and formerly of Pocahontas, died Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Faith Care Center in Highland.

Mrs. Ripperda was born March 25, 1941 in Breese, a daughter of Vincent and Verena, nee Huene, Deien; they preceded her in death.

She married John Ripperda on April 25, 1960 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese; he preceded her in death on July 22, 2007.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a son, Kevin Ripperda; grandchildren, Melvin Ripperda, Jr. and Daniel Ripperda; and brothers Vincent Deien, Jr., Donald “Doc” Deien, and Larry Deien.

Surviving are her children, Tina (Frank) Komoromi of Collinsville, Virginia (Jim) Rosen of St. Rose, Lori (Ronald) Hilmes of Pocahontas, Melvin (Janet) Ripperda of Pocahontas, Mark (special friend Renae Donohoo) Ripperda of Pocahontas, Gary (special friend Jeannie Markham ) Ripperda of Mulberry Grove, Michelle (Pat) Bardill of Highland, Greg (special friend Ashley Wilkerson) Ripperda of Pocahontas, and Jeff (special friend Rachael Statler) Ripperda of Millersburg; 17 grandchildren, Michelle Lyons, Tony (Crystal) Komoromi, Amy Rosen, Nicole (Neal) Knebel, Travis Rosen, Kim (Brian) Obermark, Pam (Jeremy) Thole, Ashley and Melissa Hilmes, Aaron Riley, Natasha Donohoo, Vicki and Sherry Markham, J.D. and Brianna Ripperda, Melody and Alexis Ripperda; 9 great-grandchildren; siblings, Betty Deien of Highland, Jackie (Roger) Shurtz of Breese, Bruce (Sandy) Deien of Pocahontas, Nancy Deien of Breese, and Jerry Deien of Mt. Olive; and sisters–in-law, Fran Deien of Trenton and Jeannie Deien of New Baden.

Margie formerly worked at Koch Cleaners in Highland and attended a Non-Denominational Chapel in Pocahontas.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese with Brother Rocky Runion officiating.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 4, 2015 from 4:00-7:30 p.m. at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese.

Christine L. Hilmes, age 92 of Trenton, died Friday, February 27, 2015 at Carlyle Health Care Center in Carlyle.

She was born October 13, 1922 in Aviston, IL to Henry and Catherine (Rakers) Schleper: they preceded her in death.

She married Arnold B. Hilmes Sr. on November 6, 1945 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Trenton; he preceded her in death on November 5, 1986.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by daughters, Irene Hilmes and Mary Ann Brown; ; a son-in-law, Dennis Brown; sisters, Josephine Rehkemper and Bernadine Emig; brothers, Herman Schleper, Tony Schleper, George Schleper, and Alphonse Schleper.

Surviving are her children, Ray (Joyce) Hilmes of Collinsville, Ralph Hilmes of Highland, Al Hilmes of Highland, and Arnold B. “Jay” Hilmes, Jr. of Trenton; 5 grandchildren and 5 great- grandchildren; a brother, Albert Schleper of Trenton; and sisters, Sr. Theresa Schleper, PHJC and Sr. Georgine Schleper, PHJC, both of Donaldson, IN.

Catherine was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and Altar Sodality in Trenton.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Trenton with Fr. Joseph Rascher officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Trenton

Visitation will be Monday, March 2, 2015 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and again on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 from 8:00-9:30 a.m. at the Moss Funeral Home in Trenton.

Memorials can be made to the donor’s choice and will be received at the funeral home.

Edward John Marty, 90 of Trenton, died Friday, February 26, 2015 at his residence.

Mr. Marty was born January 10, 1925 in St. Louis, MO to Louis and Anna, nee Whitaker, Marty; they preceded him in death.

He married Anna Mae Goodwin on December 23, 1944 in St. Louis, MO; she preceded him in death on November 17, 1999.

He was also preceded in death by a son Christopher Marty

Surviving are his daughters, Bernice Huber and husband Tom of St. Louis, MO and Carol Barbaglia and husband Mike of Lake Ozark, MO; 4 Grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Joann Marty of ST. Louis, MO and Burla Mae Marty of Ventura, CA; and his special friend, Joan Abernathy of Trenton.

Edward retired from Exxon-Mobile Oil as a furnace repairman.

A memorial mass will be held at a later date.
