Dolores M. “Dolly” Foppe Nee Hagen 90 of Trenton passed away Saturday December 12, 2015 at Trenton Village in Trenton.

She was born January 4, 1925 in Breese to Aloysius and Regina (Timmermann) Hagen, they preceded her in death.

She married Cyril Foppe August 5, 1947 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Trenton and he preceded her in death May 11, 1981.

Also preceded in death by brothers Aloys Hagen, Virgil Hagen, sisters Viola Huelsmann, Bernadette Detmer, Aurelia Hagen, brothers-in-law Leo Huelsmann, Joseph Detmer, Leo Spihlmann, Herbert Foppe, sisters-in-law Lucille Spihlmann, Norma Foppe.

Surviving are her children Cy Foppe of Cary, Allen (Pat) Foppe of Belleville, Diane (Curt) Weh of Breese, Larry (Bonnie) Foppe of Trenton, Terry (Ann) Foppe of Oak Brook.

9 grandchildren Cy (Tiffany) Foppe, Mark Foppe, Paul Foppe, Ann Foppe, Curt (Kei) Foppe, Jill Foppe, Ryan (Laurie) Weh, Alison (Brian) Holtmann, Tony (Randi Kay) Alwardt.

13 great grandchildren Cy, Cade, Cameron, Rouge, Luke, Hayden Foppe, Lucas, Liam, Lena Weh, Hayleigh, Jaxson Holtmann, Chase, Lincoln Alwardt.

Sisters-in-law Viola Hagen of Breese, Mirian Foppe of Belleville, Brother-in-law Clarence Foppe of Red Bud.

Dolly was a homemaker, and liked quilting, playing bingo and cards, but most of all spending time with family and attending grandchildren and great grandchildren’s events.

Funeral Mass of Christian burial will be Tuesday December 15, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Trenton with Fr. Joseph Rascher officiating. Interment St. Mary Cemetery, Trenton.

Visitation will be Monday December 14, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Monday 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. at the Moss Funeral Home in Trenton.

Ruth M. Deien

Ruth M. Deien, nee Horstmann, age 88 of Breese, died Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Breese Nursing Home.

She was born February 28, 1927 in Little Prairie to Herman and Katherine (Rohr) Horstmann: they preceded her in death.

She married Elmer “Emmie” Deien on April 9, 1947 at St. Anthony Church in Beckemeyer and he preceded her in death on January 18, 2007.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in by a death a son, Bradley Deien; brother, Charles Horstmann; sisters, Florence Weh and Johanna Furtwengler; brothers-in-law, Harold Weh, Charles Furtwengler, and Clarence “Becky” Beckmann; and a sister-in-law, Bertha Horstmann.

Surviving is a daughter Bonnie (Dean) Mickelson of Bartelso; 4 grandchildren, Wyatt (Sarah) Mickelson, Wade (Stacy) Mickelson, Stacey (Brian) Becker, and Chad (Anna) Kuhn; 10 great-grandchildren, Hayle Jo, Hayden, and Leah Mickelson, Hailey Kohlbrecher, Sadie Varel, Trent, Colby, and Easton Becker, Lydia and Afton Kuhn; a daughter-in-law, Sandy Deien of Breese; a sister-in-law, Florence Beckmann of Sandoval; and a special family friend, Sachiko Lynne of Grandy, NC.

Ruth was a homemaker and member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday December 12, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese with Fr. Chuck Tuttle officiating. Interment will follow in St. Dominic-St. Augustine Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday December 11 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday December 12 from 8: 30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese.

Marvin “Bud” Sudholt

Marvin L. “Bud” Sudholt, age 87 of Breese, born September 21, 1928, a son of the late Leo and Agatha, nee Buehne, Sudholt, died Saturday, November 28, 2015 at the Breese Nursing Home.

Bud was an Army Veteran serving during the Korean War and was a foreman at the 4-5-6 Company in Highland, retiring after 30 years of employment. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese, the Breese American Legion Post 252, and the 92nd AFABN. He was a Pittsburg Pirates fan, loved barbequing, gardening, fishing, playing euchre, watching purple martins, driving around Breese in his truck, and going to the farm.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by sisters, Marie Benhoff and Maxine Hempen; brothers, Roland Sudholt, Joe Sudholt, and Duane “Chub” Sudholt; sons-in-law, Alan Focht and Dallen Wright; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Edward and Philomena, nee Huelsmann, Kniepmann; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Louis Huels, Robert Raish, Leonard “Stix” Benhoff, Florence Sudholt, Owen Brendel, Orville Litteken, Clinton “Mick” Bellm, Francis Lechner, Edgar Liening, Mary and Alfred Hammer, Edward and Bea Kniepmann, and Joseph Kniepmann.

Surviving is his wife Rose, nee Kniepmann, Sudholt, whom he married February 9, 1954 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Trenton; his children, Connie Focht of Trenton, Debbie Wright of Highland, Bonnie Carrillon of Highland, Bruce Sudholt and wife Amy of Valley Springs, CA, and Tammy Betancourt and husband Eli of Danville; 10 grandchildren, Tonya Runyon, Stacy Runyon, Janelle Kloos and husband Mike, Colin Hecht and special friend Catherine Byers, Kyle Sudholt and wife Jessie, Connor, Landon, and Levi Sudholt, Jenna and Haley Clark; 3 great-grandchildren, Kandas, Destiny, and Lauren; 3 step-grandchildren, John, Nathan, and Geneva Betancourt; sisters, Betty Huels of Carlyle and Lucille “Dolly” Raish of Bellville; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Don Hempen of Mokena, Dolores Sudholt of Evansville, IN, Rita Sudholt of Belleville, Pat Kniepmann of Lebanon, Sally Brendel of Troy, Ann Litteken of Breese, Martha Bellm of Highland, Bernadette Lechner of Trenton, Rita Liening of Breese, and Jane Niebur and husband Stan of Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese with Fr. Chuck Tuttle officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow in St. Dominic/St. Augustine Cemetery, Breese.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 1, 2015 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 from 9:00-10:30 a.m. at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese.

The Breese American Legion will hold services at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

Memorials in Bud’s honor may be made to Celtic Hospice or to the House of Manna Food Pantry and will be received at the church.

Keith O’Malley

Keith M. O’Malley, age 78 of Trenton, passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at Faith Care Center in Highland.

Keith was born April 15, 1937 in Fillmore to Aloysius “Loy” and Thelma, nee Ernst, O’Malley. He worked for the State of Illinois Department of Transportation for 37 years, retiring in 1991.

Surviving are nieces, Laura Hill of Haslet, TX and Dianne Burris of Centralia; nephews, Robert Hill of Arlington, TX, Timothy Hill of Corsica, TX, Ronald Hill of Bullard, TX, Thomas Hill of Irving, TX, and David Cook of Shawnee Mission, KS; a brother-in-law, Chester Cook of Centralia; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Mary, Mildred, and Bonelda.

Keith was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Trenton.

Funeral Services will be Thursday, December 3, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Trenton with Pastor Mike Rucker officiating. Interment will follow in Valhalla Gardens of Memory in Belleville.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 3, 2015 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Trenton.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church or to Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be received at the church or through Moss Funeral Home in Trenton who is in charge of the arrangements.

Maximino B. Floreza MD

Maximino B. Floreza MD 89 of Trenton died Sunday November 22, 2015 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO.

He was born June 7, 1926 in Tanay Rizal, Philippines to Mariano and Norberta (Bautista) Floreza.

He married Belen Enrile in the Philippines and she survives in Trenton.

Also surviving are his children Eileen (Howard) Wong, Mabel Floreza, Noreen Floreza, Melvin (Betty) Floreza, Carol (Jeff) Rich.

His grandchildren Severa, Maxine, Abby, Belen, Gabriella, Jack, Madeline.

His niece Ofelia Santos.

Dr. Floreza was a longtime resident of Trenton who dedicated his life to his family and career. He was active in his community and loved to travel. He retired in 1996 after 26 years of practice in Trenton.
