In addition to her parents, Tanya was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Shultz, Sr. whom she married November 27, 1965, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in East St. Louis, and who died January 30, 2025; and parents-in-law, Clark and Marcella (nee Robertson) Shultz.

Tanya retired from Memorial Hospital in Belleville after many dedicated years in the bookkeeping department. She was a faithful member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Aviston, where her quiet faith remained an important part of her life.
She found happiness in life's simple pleasures. Tanya loved settling down with a good book, but nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with her family. She especially treasured every opportunity to visit with her children and grandchildren, taking great pride in watching their lives grow and celebrating their accomplishments.
