      Ralph H. Lake, age 95, of Bartelso, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at Carlyle Healthcare Center.

       

      He was born June 17, 1925 in Carlyle, the son of the late Fred and Rose, nee Hilmes, Lake.

       

      In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Margaret, nee Winkeler, Lake, whom he married May 11, 1948 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Bartelso and who died July 26, 2011; siblings, Albert Lake, Charles Lake, Fred Lake, Jr., Marcella Lake, and Loretta Lake; and sisters-in-law, Jeanette Lake and Rose Lake.

       

      Surviving are a brother Robert Lake of Peoria; nieces and nephews, Sue (Steve) Schulski of Morton, Pat Emery of Carlyle, Robert “Buddy” (Nancy) Lake, II of Washington, Dan Lake of Centralia, Paula (Mike) Anglen of Sandoval, and Dr. Kathy (Bruce) Lake-Monroe of Springfield; and numerous great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

       

      Ralph was a veteran of the United States Navy, formerly worked at Arrow Group Industries in Breese, and was the former co-owner of Rickhoff and Lake Tavern in Bartelso.

       

      He was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Bartelso, Bartelso Knights of Columbus Council 4745, and the Young at Hearts Club.

       

      A Private Funeral Mass will be held at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Bartelso with Fr. James Buerster presiding. Interment with full military honors will take place in St. Cecilia Cemetery, Bartelso.

       

      Memorials may be made to the Carlyle Healthcare Activity Fund and will be received through Moss Funeral Home, 535 N. 5th, Breese, IL 62230 who is serving the family.
