    Richard L. Tremmel, age 101, of Trenton, died Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at Trenton Village.

     

    Mr. Tremmel was born May 6, 1916 in Highland, a son of the late Joseph and Henrietta, nee Winter, Tremmel.

     

    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Helen, nee Youngblood, Tremmel, whom he married in November of 1947 and she died April 25, 1979; and brothers, John, Francis, and Lawrence Tremmel.

     

    He is survived by his son Ron (Kimberly) Tremmel of Trenton; 2 grandsons, Zach and Logan Miller; and a sister, Eleanor Burns of Trenton.

     

    Richard was a United States Army veteran serving during WWII and retired as a mechanic from Sealtest Dairy in St. Louis and was a member of Teamsters Local 600 in St. Louis. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to his clubhouse on the Kaskaskia River, watching the Blues and the Rams, talking politics, and keeping up with current events.

     

    Funeral Service will be Thursday, September 28, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Trenton with Pastor Thomas Rankin and Pastor Mark Smith officiating. Interment will be in Trenton Cemetery.

     

    Visitation will be Thursday, September 28, 2017 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Trenton.

     

    In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to Snack Pack Program of Clinton County (to help nourish children in need-checks may be made to FUMC-Snack Pack) and will be received at the church or through Moss Funeral Home, 105 S. Main, Trenton, IL 62293 who is serving the family.
