Mary Ann E. Voss, age 83, of Bartelso, passed away Sunday, December 10, 2023 at HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese. She was born January 20, 1940 in Highland, a daughter of the late Hugo and Lena, nee Gnaedinger, Tebbe.
Mary Ann is survived by her husband, Bob Voss, of Bartelso, whom she married July 15, 1959 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Beckemeyer; children, Randy (Francie) Voss of Carlyle, Mike (Kimberly) Voss of Centralia, and Barbara (Allan) Fritsche of Hoffman; thirteen grandchildren, Brad Voss, Justin (Chelsie) Voss, Kristen (Josh) Edler, Alex Voss, Latisha (Matt) Wilson, Rachel (Kyle) Beckemeyer, Jason (Ashley) Voss, Kyle Voss, Danny Voss, Jessica Rosol, Josh Rosol, Charlee (Travis) George, and Darren (Kenzie) Fritsche; thirty-one great-grandchildren; siblings, Ruth Thole of Breese, Bob (Shirley) Tebbe of Breese, Ginger Hemann of Germantown, Bernell (Lisa) Tebbe of Carlyle, and Bernice Voss of Breese; sisters-in-law, Willie Tebbe of Frogtown, Kathy Lohman of Highland, and Pat Voss of Breese; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mary Ann was preceded in death by her grandsons, Bruce Voss and Ryan Voss; great-granddaughters, Anna Edler and Kate Edler; brother, Donald “Butch” Tebbe; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Otto and Alvina, nee Jansen, Voss; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Virgil Thole, Don Hintz, David Hemann, Richard (Dorothy) Voss, Mary (John) Evans, Wilbert (Jane) Voss, LaVern “Fuzzy” Voss, Raymond Voss, Jerry Voss, and Don Lohman.
Mary Ann dedicated her life to love and homemaking, and providing support to her husband at Voss Garage in Bartelso, helping as a parts runner. She actively participated in St. Cecilia Catholic Church and Altar Sodality in Bartelso and the Community Development Club.
Mary Ann loved exploring yard sales, rummage sales, and auctions, always looking for some unknown treasure. She enjoyed quilting, bowling, playing cards, bingo, and board games. However, her most profound happiness emanated from the cherished moments spent with her beloved family.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, December 15, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Bartelso with Fr. Thomas Lugge presiding. Interment will follow at St. Cecilia Cemetery in Bartelso.
Visitation will be Friday, December 15, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Bartelso.
In lieu of flowers, plants, and other gifts, memorials may be made to Bartelso Fire Department and will be received at the visitation or by mail, Moss Funeral Home, 535 N. 5th St. Breese, IL 62230, who is serving the family.
