Anita M. Strake, age 67, of Breese, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. She was born on June 16, 1956, in Breese, a beloved daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Ann, nee Diesen, Strake.
In addition to her parents, Anita was preceded in death by her dear brother, Francis Strake. She is survived by her loving daughter, Kelsey (Jonathan) Houseworth of Ewing; cherished granddaughter, Hayden Houseworth; and devoted brothers, Dean Strake of Germantown and Bradley Strake of Breese.
Anita dedicated 28 years of her life to Basler Electric in Highland, where she worked in assembly. Additionally, she spent a decade working in housekeeping at Breese Nursing Home. Anita's commitment and hard work left an indelible mark on the places she served.
Anita found immense joy in spending time with her friends and family, with a special place in her heart for her adored grandchild. Her warmth, kindness, and love touched the lives of all who knew her.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Anita's life will be held on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Breese, with Judy Masching officiating. Interment will follow at St. Dominic/St. Augustine Cemetery in Breese.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Breese.
In lieu of flowers, plants, and other gifts, memorials may be made to the charity of donor’s choice and will be received at the visitation or by mail, Moss Funeral Home, 535 N. 5th St. Breese, IL 62230, who is serving the family.
