    Betty Jane Davis-Martin, age 91, of Trenton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at HSHS St. Joseph Hospital in Breese. She was born September 26, 1932, in Sandoval, a daughter of the late Claude and Nina, nee Fultz, Bopp.

     

    In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her first husband, Allan Davis, whom she married on March 11, 1951 in Trenton and who died February 22,1987; second husband, David Martin whom she married January 5, 1993 in Trenton and who died August 27, 1994; children, Larry Davis, Connie Wade, Carla Jansen-Maroon, and Jimmy Davis; siblings, Dorothy Bopp, John Bopp, Lilly (Gene) Brinkman, Carl Bopp, and Dennis Bopp; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Leo and Irene, nee Pelsue, Davis.

     

    Betty is survived by her sons, Jerry (Cynthia) Davis of Indian Land, SC and Brian (Julie) Davis of Trenton; son-in-law, Randy (Liz) Wade of Breese; daughter-in-law, Shelly Davis of Anderson, IN; grandchildren, Jacki (Adam) Taff, Jared (Christine) Davis, Jeremy Davis, Shannon (Joe) Rickhoff, Brandon (Julie) Wade, Ashley (Luke) Hollenkamp, Brad (Kate) Jansen, Alicia (Paul) McCormack, Logan Davis, Brett (fiancée, Grace Burns) Davis, and Alexa (Max) Boland; thirteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; sister-in-law, Margie Bopp of Trenton; and nieces and nephews.

     

    Betty devoted many years of her life to Jims Formal Wear before retiring. She later worked at Hanks Bowl in Trenton as a waitress, where she continued to enjoy the company of others and served many cups of coffee. A member of the First United Methodist Church in Trenton and the Highland VFW Auxiliary 5694, Betty was a vibrant community member. Her love for socializing shone through in her participation in bowling leagues, bingo nights, and card games. She also had a fondness for fishing. Most of all, Betty cherished her family, holding them close to her heart.

     

    Memorial Service will be Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Trenton with Pastor Rena Whitcher officiating. Interment will follow at Trenton Cemetery.

     

    Visitation will be Saturday, August 24, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Trenton

     

    In lieu of flowers, plants, and other gifts, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or Clinton County Humane Society and will be received at the visitation or by mail, Moss Funeral Home, 105 S. Main St. Trenton, IL 62293, who is serving the family.
