    Ruth G. Zeisset, age 88, of Highland, and formerly of Trenton, passed away Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Cedarhurst Living Center in Highland. She was born October 20, 1935, in Breese, a daughter of the late Adolph and Ida, nee Ginter, Goldsmith.

     

    In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Charles H. Zeisset, Sr. whom she married July 20, 1955, at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese and who died April 17, 2022; son Kevin Zeisset; sisters, Dolores (Virgil) Niebur and Louise (Roy) Taylor; brother, Raymond Goldsmith; and brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Gerry (Charlene) Zeisset, Harold Zeisset, and Bernard “Bernie” Zeisset.

     

    Ruth is survived by her children, Chuck (Coleen) Zeisset, Jr. of Highland, Darvin (Shelly) Zeisset of Aviston, and Kieran Zeisset of Belleville; daughter-in-law, Julie Zeisset of Pocahontas; ten grandchildren, Jessica (Kurt) Kalmer, Melanie Miller, Brooke (Zacharia) Scott, Matthew Zeisset, Jennifer (Tyler) Becker, Danielle (Chad) Grapperhaus, Nathan (Courtney) Zeisset, Jordan Zeisset, Kaitlynn (fiancé Tanner Kapp) Zeisset, and Logan Zeisset; fifteen great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Sister Charlene Zeisset, Mary Zeisset, and Barb Zeisset; and nieces and nephews.

     

    Ruth was a devoted homemaker who took great pride in caring for her family. She was a faithful member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Trenton. Ruth enjoyed crocheting, baking, tending to her garden and flowers, playing cards and rummy, and she especially loved playing bingo. Her greatest joy in life was her family, and she treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren.

     

    Memorial Service will be Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Breese with Pastor Chuck Kurfman officiating. Interment will follow at St. Dominic-St. Augustine Cemetery in Breese.

     

    Visitation will be Saturday, August 24, 2024, from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Breese.

     

    In lieu of flowers, plants, and other gifts, memorials may be made to a charity of donor’s choice and will be received at the visitation or by mail, Moss Funeral Home, 535 N. 5th St. Breese, IL 62230, who is serving the family.
