Nicholas H. “Nick” Timmermann, age 90, of St. Rose, passed away Sunday, August 24, 2025, at Evercare of Breese. He was born August 23, 1935, in Breese, a son of the late Anna (nee Diekmann) and August Timmermann Sr.
In addition to his parents, Nick was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret (nee Usselmann) Timmermann, whom he married January 14, 1958, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese and who died January 26, 2010; siblings, William (Floriann) Timmermann, Stanley Timmermann, August “Augie” (Annie) Timmermann, Matthew “Hammer” Timmermann, James “Doc” Timmermann, Marcel “Lefty” Timmermann, Albert (Clara Mae) Timmermann, and John (Rita) Timmermann; parents-in-law, Henry and Wilhelmina (nee Deerhake) Usselmann; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ray (Florence) Usselmann, Andrew “Bud” Usselmann, Evelyn Drees, Julie (Sylvester) Hilmes, Mary Ann Usselmann, Florence Usselmann, Dorothy (Virgil) Buller, Veronica (Don) Boehm, and Vernon Kombrink.
Nick is survived by his children, Dan (Cheryl) Timmermann of O’Fallon, Mike (Brenda) Timmermann of St. Rose, Julie (Leon) Voss of Breese, Nick (friend, Chris Solis) Timmermann of St. Rose, and Craig (Peggy) Timmermann of Aviston; grandchildren, Adam (Shannon) Timmermann, Ashley Timmermann, Eric (Lindsay) Timmermann, Danielle (Taylor) Koetting, Kayla (Josh) Bernardini, Luke (Chelsie) Voss, Leann (Nick) Langhauser, Brady (fiancée, Krissy Williams) Timmermann, Madison (friend, Josh Donnewald) Timmermann, Kyle (Carli) Timmermann, Megan (Kyle) Thole, and Amber (Addison) Brennan; great-grandchildren, Jackson, Rylan, Tatum, Emery, Olivia, Lainie, Jadyn, Miles, Bentley, Nash, Barrett, Jenssen, Dekker, Sadie, Zoe, Case, Letty, and Brennan twins joining the family in January 2026; sister, Mary Kombrink of O’Fallon; sisters-in-law, Irene Ziegler of Florida and Doris Dothager of Breese; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A proud veteran, Nick served two years in the United States Army during the Korean War, followed by four years in the reserves. He later dedicated thirty three-years to Timmermann Milk Service, sixteen years as St. Rose Township Commissioner and a decade of service as a bus driver for SCT. Nick gave generously of his time to his community as a member of St. Rose Catholic Church and Men’s Sodality, assistant fire chief with the St. Rose Fire Department, and member of the St. Rose Development Club.
In his leisure, Nick enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards, and cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought him tremendous joy.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, August 29, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Rose Catholic Church in St. Rose with Fr. Edward Schaefer presiding. Interment will take place at a later date at St. Rose Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday, August 29, 2025, from 8:30 – 11:00 a.m. at St. Rose Catholic Church in St. Rose.
In lieu of flowers, plants, and other gifts, memorials may be made to St. Rose Cemetery or Community Link and will be received at the visitation or by mail, Moss Funeral Home, 535 N 5th St. Breese, IL 62230, who is serving the family.
