Jane Koehler, age 70, of Beckemeyer passed away Friday, September 12, 2025, at HSHS Saint Elizabeth's Hospital in O'Fallon, Illinois. She was born on July 5, 1955, in Highland, Illinois, a daughter of the late Charles and Esther (nee Gruenenfelder) Stevenson.
Jane married Michael Koehler Sr. on March 17, 1973, in Beckemeyer, Illinois and he survives in Beckemeyer. In addition to her husband, Jane is survived by her children, Michael Jr. (Maria) Koehler of Carlyle, Samantha (Brian) Stock of Beckemeyer, and Colin Koehler of Beckemeyer; grandchildren, Heather (Brandon) Oliver, Jaide Stock, Dyllan Martin, Ava Stock, Cameron Koehler, Piper Koehler, Kinsey Koehler and Max Koehler; great-granddaughter, Bayley Oliver; siblings, Kenny (Janice) Stevenson of Pocahontas, Charlotte Liening of Jamestown, Charlene (John) Grapperhaus of Highland, Charles Stevenson of Breese, and Sandy (Richard) Peters of Germantown; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Marie Stevenson of Breese, Ken (Marilyn) Koehler of Carlyle, Rick Koehler of Beckemeyer, Mark (Beth) Koehler of Carlyle, Melissa Koehler of Centralia, and Kay Koehler of Beckemeyer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Larry Stevenson and Dennis Stevenson; sister; Betty Lou Clymens; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Melvin and Barbara (nee Starr) Koehler; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, James Liening, Tom Katusich, Phillip Koehler, Peggy Stevenson, and Kathryn "Kate" Stevenson; and nephews, Ryan Koehler and Chet Koehler.
Jane was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She formerly worked at Koehler’s Pit BBQ in Carlyle and Moto Mart in Breese. She enjoyed spending time with loved ones, tending to her flowers, watching baseball, and playing quilt bingo. Her biggest joy in her life was helping her disabled son, Colin, blossom into the happy, young man he is today.
A graveside service will be held Friday, September 19, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Cemetery in Pierron.
Memorials in honor of Jane may be made to the wishes of the family (checks payable to the Trust of Colin Koehler) and will be received at the service or by mail, Moss Funeral Home, 535 N. 5th St. Breese, IL 62230, who is serving the family.
