    Karla Jené Draper, age 52, of Trenton, passed away Thursday, November 27, 2025, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 7, 1973, in Breese, a daughter of Jerome W. “Jerry” and Shirley “Jean” (nee Boeser) Wieter of Trenton.

     

    In addition to her parents, Karla is survived by her daughters, Tiffany (Shawn) Rakers of Breese and Jenna (friend, Ben Sothern) Draper of Trenton; grandchildren, Lincoln and Laken Rakers; sister, Tammy (Jeff) Campbell of Trenton; niece and nephew, Madison (Colin) Rogers of Portland, TN and Aaron (fiancée, Lauryn Ridenour) Campbell of Trenton; and aunts, uncles, and cousins.

     

    Karla was preceded in death by her grandparents, Vincent and Dolores (nee Rolfingsmeyer) Wieter and John and Mildred (nee Dubach) Boeser.

     

    A 1991 graduate of Mater Dei Catholic High School, Karla went on to earn her degree in Early Childhood Education from Kaskaskia College. Her passion for nurturing and guiding children was evident throughout her career. She worked as a paraprofessional in the special education department at Highland High School and previously operated an in-home daycare in Summerfield. Karla also touched many young lives during her time teaching Pre-K at Albers Elementary.

     

    Karla was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Aviston. She had a joyful spirit and a love for life whether she was shopping, traveling to Florida, enjoying the occasional casino visit, or celebrating her favorite season, Christmas.

     

    Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, December 5, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Aviston with Fr. Von Deeke presiding. Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Trenton.

     

    Visitation will be Friday, December 5, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Aviston.

     

    In lieu of flowers, plants, and other gifts, memorials may be made to Hooter Fest or Clinton County Thrive Tribe and will be received at the visitation or by mail at Moss Funeral Home, 535 N. 5th St., Breese, IL 62230, who is serving the family.
