  • Full Obituary

Rebecca A. “Becky” Klostermann (née Priestley), age 77, of Breese, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at her home in Highland. She was born on October 28, 1948, in Red Bud, Illinois, the daughter of the late Harry and Elizabeth (née Sieberg) Priestley.

Becky married Joseph “Joe” Klostermann on February 2, 1973, at St. Teresa Catholic Church in Belleville. He preceded her in death on July 8, 2025.

She is survived by her loving sons, Joseph “JD” (Stephanie Sparks) Klostermann of St. Charles, Missouri; Dr. Brian (Ann) Klostermann of Breese; and Andrew (Joe Moore) Klostermann of Highland. She was a proud grandmother to Joseph Klostermann; James, Stella, and Rose Klostermann; and Couren and Amouryne McDonald-Smirl. Becky is also survived by her sister, Linda (Dave) Miller of St. Louis, Missouri; sisters-in-law, Edith (Karl) Gerhard of Little Rock, Arkansas, Helen Klostermann of Breese, and Leann Klostermann of Breese; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joe; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joseph and Frances (née Heimann) Klostermann; and her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Vincent Klostermann, Catherine (Cletus) Koerkenmeier, Dolores “Tudy” (Burnell) Weinheimer, Robert Klostermann, Marge (Tom) Richter and Thomas Burke.

Becky dedicated many years to education and retired as a reading teacher from Hinchcliffe Elementary School in O’Fallon. She earned her master’s degree from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Becky was a talented painter and baker, but most of all she cherished the time she spent with her family.

She took great joy in supporting her sons in all their endeavors and faithfully supported Joe’s coaching career. Becky also warmly welcomed her son's friends into her home like they were her own, treating them with the same unconditional love and kindness.
