- Full Obituary
Patricia R. “Pat” Lampe, age 87, of Breese, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, April 21, 2026.
She was born May 29, 1938, in St. Rose, the daughter of the late Bernard and Rosalia (née Strieker) Schumacher. Pat married Jerry Lampe on October 28, 1958, at St. Rose Catholic Church. He survives in Breese.
In addition to her beloved husband, Pat is survived by her children: Jeff (Deb Lyngholm) Lampe of Bluffton, SC; Craig (Christine) Lampe of O’Fallon; and Troy (Wendy) Lampe of Breese. She was a proud Maw Maw to Mason (Abbey) Lampe and Ella Lampe; Reece Lampe and Josie Lampe; Max Watts, Sydney Watts (fiancé Logan Ash), and MacKenzie (Josh) Enevold; and a cherished great-grandmother to Roman and Isaiah Enevold.
She is also survived by her sister, Margie (Ray) Fabre of Hawaii; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Shirley Schumacher of St. Rose, James “Stix” (Joanne) Lampe of Germantown, Ruth Lampe of Breese, and Paul (Elaine) Lampe of Breese; along with many nieces and nephews.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Gervase “Gerp” (Norma) Schumacher, Rosemary (Bernard “Junior”) Schumacher, Martha (Bernard “Bernie”) Weis, Wendelin “Wenny” Schumacher, and Theresa “Tessie” (Val) Buchmiller; her parents-in-law, Ben and Pauline (Eilermann) Lampe; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Dolores (Derwood) Spees, Richard “Slugger” (Joan) Lampe, and Daniel Lampe.
Pat dedicated many years of service to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese, where she worked as both a ward clerk and medical records clerk. She was a faithful member of St. Dominic Catholic Church and the Altar Sodality, where she especially enjoyed volunteering at the annual rummage sale. She also gave her time as a volunteer with the HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital Auxiliary.
Pat treasured her monthly card club, maintaining more than 50 years of friendship, laughter, and companionship. She loved shopping—especially for clothing and jewelry—and had a gift for finding the best deals while always looking “dressed to the nines.” She found great joy in the Christmas season, delighting in preparing wonderful meals, giving thoughtful gifts, and creating lasting traditions for family and friends. An exceptional baker, she took pride in sharing her signature pies, cakes, cookies, and candies with those she loved. Above all, Pat cherished her family, her 67 years of marriage with Jerry, and she took great pride in being the “Best Ever” MawMaw, always showing up and creating lasting memories with her grandchildren.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, April 30, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese with Fr. James Nall presiding. Interment will follow at St. Dominic/St. Augustine Cemetery, Breese.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 29, 2026, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Breese and again on Thursday, April 30, 2026, from 9:30-10:45 a.m. at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese.
In lieu of flowers, plants, or other gifts, memorials may be made to All Saints Academy and will be received at the visitation or by mail at Moss Funeral Home, 535 N. 5th Street, Breese, IL 62230, which is serving the family.
