Josephine Marie “Josie” Timmermann, age 91, of Breese, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at Aviston Countryside Manor. She was born on October 28, 1934, in St. Rose, the daughter of the late Frank and Anna (nee Boenhoff) Timmermann.
Josie lived a quiet, meaningful life centered on service, her faith, and her work caring for others as a nurse’s aide at St. Joseph's Hospital in Highland and through her devoted membership at St. Francis Church and Altar Society in Aviston.
Josie is survived by a nephew, Daniel G. (Dawn) Korte of Trenton. She is preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Agnes Korte; and brother-in-law, Edmund A. “Ed” Korte.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis Church in Aviston, with Fr. Von Deeke presiding. Interment will follow at St. Francis Cemetery in Aviston.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 11, 2026, from 9:00 – 10:45 a.m. at St. Francis Church in Aviston.
In lieu of flowers, plants, or other gifts, memorials may be made to St. Francis Church and will be received at the visitation or by mail at Moss Funeral Home, 535 N. Fifth St., Breese, IL 62230, who is serving the family.
