- Full Obituary
Randy Eugene Masterson, age 59, left us to be with the Lord on Wednesday August 26, 2026. Randy passed away peacefully surrounded by his family.
He was born on July 9th, 1967, to Norma Jean (nee Dall) and Bobby Eugene Masterson. His mother Normie passed away in 1973, and Randy was blessed with the perfect stepmom, Diane (nee Santel) Masterson.
Diane survives, along with his wife, Darleen (nee Isaak) Masterson, whom he married on February 5, 2000, and his cherished daughter Lilia (Jacob Claspille) Masterson. Randy also leaves behind his mother-in-law Aggie (Ken Dierkes) Isaak; sister-in-law Carolyn Isaak Gardner, and brother-in law Kevin (Wendy) Isaak; siblings Sara (Bill) Holtgrave, Ann (Kevin) Kalmer, and Lisa (Don) Dove; nephews Levi Holtgrave, and Zachary (Sommer) Kalmer; nieces Amber (Mehdi) Ben Ayed, Amanda (Joe) Sapienza, Andrae Masterson, and Victoria (Terry) Haakinson, along with great nephews and nieces Layla, Nora, Dreyton, Demi, Dallas, Tyler, Leviathan, and Freyja, in addition to many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
Randy was welcomed Home by his parents, Normie and Gene, his sister Pam Masterson, Grandparents Margaret and Ted Dall, Abbie and Truman Masterson, Sarah and Clem Santel, Father-in-law Jerome Isaak along with many treasured aunts, uncles, cousins and friends in attendance.
Randy grew up in Clinton County and loved his life, family and friends. He was passionate about sports, loved the outdoors, and spent many hours tooling around in his golf cart. There is a bar stool with his name on it at South Side Tavern, where he enjoyed spending time with friends, sharing stories but mostly giving advice. He loved his “Wednesday Drinking Crew” pals.
Prior to an injury, Randy was a long-time truck driver and professional heavy equipment operator who held positions at Haag Foods, Wilke Trucking, Surmeier & Surmeier, IUOE 520 and lastly The Maschhoffs.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Breese Park (Pavillion by Hannah’s Playground) on September 12th, beginning at noon. Family and friends are invited to enjoy a meal, share memories, and tell their favorite Randy stories. Family encourages everyone to wear sports or racing attire. Please bring lawn chairs.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, donations may be made to The Foundation for Alcoholism Research https://alcoholismresearch.org/support-volunteer-donate/ or SMART recovery https://secure.everyaction.com/HpvcQVAIBUWutBBuORyDfw2, or can be received by mail at Moss Funeral Home, 535 N. 5th Street, Breese, IL 62230, who is serving the family.
