Gerald J. “Joy” Darden Jr. 78 of Trenton and formerly of Fairview Heights died Monday May 13, 2013 at his residence.
He was born August 20, 1934 in Piedmont, MO to Lessie (Braddy) and Gerald J. Darden Sr.: they preceded him in death.
Also preceded in death by a granddaughter Corrine Kaiser, grandson Thomas Kaiser, great granddaughter Lyvia Roach, sister Janiece Gendron, a daughter-in-law Connie Jean Darden, brothers-in-law Bill Alldredge, Dan Gendron, Jim Belmar, John Woods..
He married Ruth Alldredge May 29, 1954 in St. Louis, MO and she survives in Trenton.
Also surviving are his children Gerald (Linda) Darden III of Pawnee, Roger Darden of Fairmont City, Elizabeth (Steve) McLeister of Wolfforth, TX, Sara (Edward) Dryden of Collinsville, Samantha (Mark) Kaiser of Trenton
13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren
A sister Frieda Belmar of St. Louis, MO.

Joy was retired from Wonder Bread Company as a truck driver.
Member of Tower View Baptist Church in Belleville and served as a deacon, Masonic East Lodge 504 in Fairview Heights Teamster Local 688 in St. Louis.
Funeral Service Thursday May 16, 2013 at 11:00 am at Moss Funeral Home, Trenton. Pastor Ron Woods officiating. Interment Marine Cemetery, Marine, IL
Visitation will be Wednesday May 15 from 4 to 8 PM and Thursday May 16 from 9 to time of services at the Moss Funeral Home in Trenton
Memorials can be made to Parkinson Research, Tower View Baptist Church and will be received at the funeral Home.
