Martha C. Duing 89 of Germantown died Saturday August 24, 2013 at Scenic Hills Care Center in Ferdinand, IN
She was born April 9, 1924 in Bartelso to Louis and Mary (Pingsterhaus) Varel: they preceded her in death.
She married Walter Duing May 14, 1960 at St. Cecilia Church in Bartelso and he preceded her in death February 18, 2013.
Also preceded in death by a brother Louis Varel Jr., a sister Agnes Holtmann. Brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Joseph Holtmann, Joseph Huelsmann, Marcella Varel, Alfred Korte, Lavern Laux, Irlene Varel, Mary and Al Timmermann, George and Ceil Duing, Marcella Krebs, Alvina and Ray Hustedde, Cornelius Henrichs.
Surviving are her children Diane (Mark) Ginter of Ferdinand, IN, Jeff (Mary Jo) Duing of Draper UT.
8 grandchildren Katie (Jeremy) Goebel, Michelle, John, Matthew, Luke, Joel and Joshua Ginter, Jacob Duing.

Martha had worked at Wee Walker Shoe Factory in Carlyle, and was a beautician. She enjoyed canning and quilting. Traveling, square dancing and her grandchildren.
She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and Altar Sodality in Germantown, Clinton County Farm Bureau, Mascoutah Silver square – square dance club, and an honorary member of St. Joseph's Hospital Auxiliary in Breese
Funeral Mass of Christian burial will be Tuesday August 27, 2013 at 10:00 am at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown with Fr. James Buerster and Deacon Rich Bagby officiating. Interment St. Boniface Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday August 26 from 4 to 8 PM and Tuesday August 27 from 8:00 to 9:45 AM at the Moss Funeral Home in Germantown.
Memorials can be made to St. Boniface Catholic Church of Mater Dei High School and will be received at the funeral home.
