Maurice E. Elmore 80 of Trenton died Thursday October 3, 2013 on the outdoor patio at Relais Bonne Eau Hospice Home in Edwardsville with his loving wife and children by his side,

He was born March 11, 1933 to Clarence and Maida (Morrow) Elmore in Vandalia, and grew up in Mulberry Grove.

He married Doreen Turley November 24, 1955 in Greenville and she survives in Trenton.

Also surviving are his children Denise (Dr. Andrew) Limper of Rochester, MN, Kirk (Connie) Elmore, Beth Elmore, Jana Elmore all of Trenton.

5 grandchildren Sarah, Nicole, Elise Limper, Zachary, Kyle Elmore.

A sister Joyce (Kenny) Dothager of Mulberry Grove.

In laws Connie Turley, Sam (Susie) Turley all of Greenville.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law Neal Turley.

Maurice received his Bachelor degree at Eastern Illinois, and Masters of Education in Counseling at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.

He retired from Wesclin High School in Trenton teaching from September of 1958 to May of 1992, Mr. Elmore taught Drivers Education, Industrial Arts and History and Social Studies. After his retirement from teaching he owned and operated Elm’s Carpet House in Trenton. Maurice was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Korean War.

Member of the First United Methodist Church in Trenton, Trenton Masonic Lodge, and Illinois Retired Teachers Association.

Memorial service will be Saturday October 19, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church in Trenton at 10:30AM with Rev. Mike Rucker officiating.

Visitation will be Friday October 18, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm and Saturday October 19 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Masonic Lodge services will be held at 10:00 a.m.at the First United Methodist Church in Trenton.

Memorials can be made to Alzheimer Research or Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be received at the church or through Moss Funeral Home in Trenton
