Steven C. Kaufman, 55, of Trenton, died Monday, October 7, 2013 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

Mr. Kaufman was born September 8, 1958 in Belleville, IL to Leona M. (Papproth) and Oliver "Scoop" Kaufman, Jr.; they survive in Trenton.

He married Sharon Hammer on September 21, 1980 at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Highland; she survives in Trenton.

In addition to his parents and wife, he is also survived by his siblings, Scott (Geri) Kaufman of Highland, Shari (Karry) Major of Trenton, & Tim Kaufman of Belleville; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Theresa (Tom) Padfield of Trenton, Al (Ann) Hammer of Trenton, Carol (Ron) Kapp of Trenton, Tom (Sandy) Hammer Highland, JoAnn (Mike) Muston of Flushing, MI, & Dave (Carol) Hammer of Trenton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father-in-law & mother-in-law, Alfred & Mary (Kniepmann) Hammer; and a brother-in-law, Jim Hammer.

Steve was the owner and operator of Kaufman's Flooring Center, Trenton, IL since 1993. He enjoyed his two Beagles (Pitts & Wilson), Deer Hunting, Corvettes, and Harley Davidson Motorcycles.

Memorial Visitation will be Wednesday, October 9, 2013 from 5:00-8:00 pm at the Moss Funeral Home in Trenton.

Memorials can be made to the donor's choice and will be received at the funeral home.
