John B. Colvin, Sr., 63, of Trenton, died Friday, January 10, 2014 at Carlyle Healthcare Center, Carlyle, IL.

Mr. Colvin was born April 12, 1950 in St. Louis, MO to Doris (Buff) and Harry Colvin, Sr.; they preceded him in death.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, John B. Colvin, Jr.; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Albert and Sylvia (Litteken) Rakers; and a niece, Charity Peek.

He married Elaine Rakers on October 7, 1972 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Trenton, and she survives in Trenton.

Also surviving are his daughters, Leah Colvin of Trenton, Jessica (Mike) Glielmi of St. Louis, MO, and Emily (friend Theo Odom) Colvin of Trenton; a brother, Harry (Marty) Colvin, Jr. of Farmington, MO; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Bonnie (friend Rob Mclean) Weinacht of Highland, Paula (Dale) Peek of Aviston, Jane (Marvin) Hollenkamp of Aviston, and Joan (Jay) Blair of Manito, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

John was a Telecommunications Specialist for Centene in St. Louis, MO.

He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Trenton, Trenton Knights of Columbus Council 2932, and at a younger age obtained the rank of Eagle Scout.

Memorial Service will be Monday, January 13, 2014 at 7:00 pm at the Moss Funeral Home in Trenton with Fr. Joseph Rascher officiating.

Visitation will be Monday, January 13, 2014 from 4:00-7:00 pm at the Moss Funeral Home in Trenton.

Memorials can be made to Stress Management Strategies (support for caregivers) and will be received at the funeral home.

The Trenton Knights of Columbus will hold services at 6:00 pm Monday evening at the funeral home.
