Henrietta E. “Etta” Jansen, nee Koopmann, 95, of Bartelso, died Monday, June 2, 2014 at her home.
Mrs. Jansen was born September 29, 1918 in Bartelso to John and Anna (Kolp) Koopmann; they preceded her in death.
She married Leo Jansen on October 18, 1947 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Chicago; he preceded her in death on November 22, 1998.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, John Stablein; sisters, Cecilia Hoh, Martha Kahrhoff, Pauline “Pap” VanOpen, Catherine Dumstorff, and Eleanor Blomquist; brothers, Leo Koopmann in infancy and Joseph Koopmann; and brothers-in-law, Harry Hoh, Paul Kahrhoff, George VanOpen, Bill Dumstorff, and John Blomquist.
Surviving are daughters, Cindy Jansen of Bartelso, Dian Stablein of Valrico, FL, Stephanie Jansen of St. Louis, and Sheila (James) Fuchs of St. Louis; 5 grandchildren, David (Karen) Stablein, Kara (Ryan) Trzasko, Dan, Molly, and Marcy Fuchs; and 1 great-granddaughter, Sophie Trzasko.
Etta was a homemaker and a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church and Ladies Sodality in Bartelso, Clinton County Farm Bureau, and Catholic War Veterans Auxiliary. She enjoyed quilting, bingo, playing cards, going to the casino, gardening, and her many cats.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, June 5, 2014 at 11:00 am at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Bartelso with Fr. James Buerster officiating. Interment will follow in St. Cecilia Cemetery, Bartelso.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 4, 2014 from 4:00-8:00 pm and again on Thursday, June 5, 2014 from 9:00-10:30 am at the Moss Funeral Home in Germantown.
Memorials can be made to the Clinton County Humane Society or to the donor’s choice and will be received at the funeral home.
