TSgt Mark "Doug" Willis, USAF, RET., age 55 of St. Rose, born February 22, 1960 in E. St. Louis, IL, a son of the late Chesley and Barbara Willis, died Monday, November 16, 2015 at his residence surrounded by his family.
Doug retired with the rank of Technical Sergeant from the USAF after serving from 1980-2000 and he formerly worked in the Fire Restoration Division of Jim's Formal Wear in Trenton.
He was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church and Men's Sodality, St. Rose Development Club, was a life member of the Highland VFW Post 5694, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and aggravating people.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded by his father-in-law, Walter Tebbe; brothers-in-law, Dennis Tebbe and Kevin Alberternst; and nephews, Jason Willis and Jeremy Tebbe.
Surviving is his wife Joan, nee Tebbe, Willis of St. Rose, whom he married September 25, 1981 at St. Rose Catholic Church; his children, Jacob Willis, Lauren Willis and friend Nathan Vice, and Caitlyn Willis all of St. Rose; his siblings, Mack Willis of Tampa, FL, Kim Cruse of Pocahontas, and Mike Willis and wife Nichole of Pocahontas; his mother-in-law, Gladys, nee Knebel, Tebbe of St. Rose; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Brenda Willis of Rockwall, TX, Jim Tebbe of St. Rose, Joe Tebbe and wife Jan of St. Rose, Rich Tebbe and wife Chrysa of St. Rose, Norma Tebbe of Waxahachie, TX, Kathy Jansen and husband KJ of St. Rose, and Carolyn Alberternst of St. Rose; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial Mass will be Thursday, November 19, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Rose Catholic Church in St. Rose with Fr. Edward Schaefer officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow in St. Rose Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese.
Memorials can be made to his children's education fund and will be received at the funeral home.
