John N. Thoele, age 68, of Breese, died Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at his residence.
Mr. Thoele was born December 20, 1949 in Breese, a son of the late Alvin and Mary Ann, nee Fuehne, Thoele.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Thoele of Breese, whom he married January 9, 1996 in Las Vegas, NV; son, John Ivan (Becky) Thoele of Surprise, AZ; step-son, Shane Passafaro of Belleville; grandchildren, Jacob, McKenzie, Amelia, and Max Thoele; siblings, Allen “AT” Thoele of Germantown and Anne (Garry) Hellman of Breese; sister-in-law, Linda (Rick) Lindell of Colona and Shelly Beckel of Junction City, KS.
John was a veteran of the United States Army and retired as a Contracting Specialist for the Army Corps of Engineers. He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, American Legion Post 325, Vietnam Veterans Chapter 269, and St. Joseph’s Hospital Auxiliary.
Memorial Mass will be Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown with Fr. George Mauck presiding. Burial of cremains will be in Jefferson Barrack National Cemetery in St. Louis with full military honors accorded.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 16, 2018 from 8:30-10:15 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown.
Memorials may be made to the wishes of the family and will be received at the church or through Moss Funeral Home who is serving the Thoele family.
